delay

The staff is great! But over an hour and half delay on my tee time this is unacceptable. What's up with forest Preserve golf courses. The compensation for my delay a soda wow!!! . The golf carts are ancient and unreliable.

Joe Louis

I honestly really enjoy playing this course, but on this occasion it was just in HORRIBLE condition. Half of the course was underwater, and it hadn't even rained for a week.

I want to reiterate that normally this is a great course, and I would recommend and will play again, but I think in days it is underwater, it needs to be discounted.

good course gone bad!!

although it's the end of the year it's sad that they let the course just go down hill.no leaves blown, sand traps unattended, greens shoddy, but hey that's the park district for you.

The age of the trees and uniqueness is outstanding.

My son and I played Sunday, and we really had a very enjoyable round. The grounds are well kept and the greens were very nice as well as challenging.

Decent course conditions, terrible staff

For a forest preserve course the greens were in good shape. The fairways and tee boxes were dry and hard. The lady at the front desk was probably the rudest and most unhelpful person I have ever come across at any golf course. They don't have enough carts for the amount of people that pay for them. Overall, worth the $20, but if anywhere else is available and near the same price I would not go back to Joe Louis.

Hard to beat for the money

It's hard to find more value than this course in Chicago. It's an average course. Not terrible, not great either. Every time we play this course (and we've played a number of times) the speed of play is quick (18 holes in under 4 hours yesterday which was a Sunday tee time 12:30). 18 holes and cart with golfnow discount was $25! Usually the golf course's own website will have a special for $35 (which is still a great deal) but we got lucky yesterday. Bottom line is its cheap, decent course, quick, drink carts most of the time. If you want to work on your game this is a great course to do it at.

Welcome Back

I had not golfed here for a number of years and came back to find a well-maintained and fun course. There is plenty of shade, which was nice on a hot day. Good cheeseburger and beer at the turn. Overall a great experience.

This course has thieves.

I left my car door unlocked and my Ipod and kindle was stolen. The course ran out of golf carts and push carts and my groups tee time got pushed back by an hour and 15 minutes.
