Golfer Reviews
Fun, challenging layout.
Fun course, posed a challenge for intermediate golfer such as myself. Played 3 times averaging mid-high 90's. Really enjoyed the layout. Got a great deal. Beer was cold :)
Great course
I played here over 30 years ago. It was a great course then and it still is. I highly recommend playing here.
Great test of golf
Deerfield is a good test of your abilities. I used every club in my bag throughout the round which indicates to me a well laid out course that requires some creativity to navigate. Greens in excellent shape. Multiple tees allow for all skill levels to enjoy this course.
One of the best public course
This was my first time play on this course. I played the gold tee. The layout is very good. The green is fast and bunker is great. (I saved all bunker shot!) I got hot deal from golfnow. I will play there again if I get a good deal.
AFTER A STORM
We had booked a tee time that wound up being about 5 groups after the course started letting out golfers after a morning of serious downpours that included having the edens expressway just about impassable for several hours. That said, the drainage was almost amazing as there was very little standing water anyway except in a few bunkers and the carts were not limited to the cart paths. The course played fast and we finished as a twosome behind a foursome in less than 4 hours. It turned out to be a great morning of golf.
Very good
Only problem was mix up in tee time
Deerfield
Better than average park district course
Great value
The GN discount was fantastic. Course was in great shape and challenging. Thought the ranger was rude! Seemed to have an attitude. Pro shop and starter were friendly and efficient. Nice course!
Worst round ever
We only played 15 holes. There were 4 groups when we arrived at the 16th. There were 3 groups at 13 and this occurred at least once on the front 9. We were at 4 hours when arriving at 16 and passed 2 groups at the turn. At 9 minute tee times that amounts to a loss of 1 hour and nearly a 6 hour round if we were to continue. Not one ranger all day. PATHETIC.
Deerfield June 2016
Course was in immaculate condition - the ranger said there was an amateur tournament coming up soon there, and it will a good test for them. Firm and quick greens, lots of run on fairways and greens. Tough but very fair. With a hot deal on golfnow a great value for the rate.
A Hot Painfully Slow Day
I learned not to play on Father's Day, particularly when the weather is really hot, when many families are out to play a round with dad!
Fun
Great course. I had a lot of fun.
Played in 38F, Felt like 28F
First time out this season at Deerfield GC. Think everyone must have been home watching The Masters. The course was empty. $20 to walk the course. It was upper 30's but definitely felt like upper 20's. Make sure bundle up.
The course was in excellent condition. The entire course was free of debris and leaves. The tee to green was incredible despite the cold and snow we've had past few days.
The greens rolled true and fast. Played under 3 hours.
True greens
Played this course on 12-12-15. Course conditions were excellent for that time of the year. Playing from the back tees proved to be a very good test of skill. Try it, you'll like it.
It's ridiculous that a park district course will charge $75 for the weekend even after the greens have been aerated and sanded. It's a good course but doesn't compare with Thunderhawk or Stonewall Orchard. Deerfield Park District is price gouging! Will never play or even recommend to anyone to play here for $75. Wait for the weekday and hot deals and play for what's really worth $25 - $35.
