Great first spring round
Beautiful spring day and the course was in excellent condition. Starter got us out early and we never waited at any hole. Played at a leisurely pace and finished 9 in less than 2 hours on a Saturday. Love this course for 9 holes.

Can't do better for the price
Only in a town like St Charles would you find a muni 9h course draped over the shore of the fox river that was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. Just absurd.
The course is somewhat short and tight. Not many driver opportunities, especially in the first half. The layout is very well designed with clear risk/reward choices to manage on every hole. Save for one, I though every hole was brilliantly laid out.
Neither hard nor too easy, you have to plan your shots and make them or you can find trouble to blow up your card quickly. But play smart and hit your targets and it's lovely.
Conditions were immaculate before you factor in that it's a 20 dollar park district track. Insane value here.
