Good little course
Sycamore is an easy course that is quick to play. Nearly every hole is straight and flat, however they do have some well placed bunkers and plenty of trees to punish mis-hits. The course conditions are pretty good, however there has been flooding recently so a few of the holes have repairs underway. I will play here again when I return to the area.
short and straight
Dont go after a heavy rain. The back nine does not drain. Good course if you dont like losing balls. Would prob pay 15 to play this course during the week and 22 on a weekend. No blue tees for longer hitters.
Kudos to the park district
After an 1.5 hour weather delay, the course had very good drainage. Overall well maintained. Carts ready at resumption of play and dried off. Nice clubhouse. Straightforward course that does not have a lot of trouble.
Fun to play
First time at Sycamore GC and I will definitely be back. A very gentle course, that doesn't beat you up every hole. The fairways were wide and in great condition and the greens were very manageable. Short par 4's and a couple of reachable par 5's, along with a great pace of play made the round very enjoyable.
A good park district course
Fairly easy course, small but not too crowded. Took a long time to get through the first tee but after that the groups moved very quickly.
Well maintained course.
Could be better
This is a nice little course, but the staff lets pretty much anyone walk on at any given time so it can get very crowded and end up being a very slow round. I've walked 18 out here in two and a half hours. Yesterday's round took about four and we were riding. Long waits on every hole. It would be nice if they either spaced people out properly or had a ranger maintaining pace of play or both.
Great course!
Course was not overly difficult. Straight fairways, maybe one dogleg. Fairways were wide, rough was not very long. Only two par 5's make the course manageable. Even the par 4's are not overly long. Great place to play with a family or if you are looking for a nice day without being frustrated with difficult holes.
It's close and affordable
I started playing there last year. To date I have played about 20+ rounds and counting! It is a very nice public course. It's actually a Park District course and it is well maintained.
Great course conditions.
A great course for mixed talent groups. It's long enough to satisfy low handicappers but sports wide fairways, modest bunkers and gentle greens to make it non-frustrating for high handicappers.
