About
Odyssey Country Club is a challenging layout that was designed by Harry Bower and two-time U.S. Open winner Curtis Strange. Strange won in 1988 and 1989, putting him in the company of only six others in the century-long history of the U.S. Open. His influence is apparent in all the strategic elements of the golf course as well as the risk-reward options. This demanding layout is not exactly beginner friendly. Staying on the fairways is crucial or your ball will be met with deep rough. Water is also a prominent presence on the golf course. Twelve holes either feature a water hazards or play along the water's edge. Odyssey Country Club's 16th hole is memorable for its tricky island green, which naturally draws comparisons to the famous 17th at TPC Sawgrass.

great place to play
everytime i play this course i get a diffrent challing round.i am a little put off that people don't fix there ball marks

Slow play
I really did enjoy the golf course I would suggest however that instead of eight minute teetimes they push them back to it the least 10 minute teetimes the second hole is a lengthy part three and at one point they were four groups waiting to play the whole once we got through that it was just backed up for the rest of the day. Luckily at the end of nine the front nine was open so we were able to go out and we just played the front nine again instead of a three hour around the first time it only took us an hour and a half the second

Great public course
Course was in good shape. Greens rolled good. A few bunkers were in need of work.

Odyssey is back in good condition
First time playing this course in two years. The course had really gone down and was not well maintained. To my surprise the course is getting back to where it was three years ago. The greens were in great shape fairways were in good condition. Will be playing this course on a regular basis.

Overbook
Guys,
Great track I used to play all the time in the early 2000’s. But it’s getting rough around the edges and you pack it so full, it’s a 5 1/2 hour round. Unacceptable.
I get that the profits go to help the Vets, and that is fantastic. But you gotta spend money to make money. If you let the place go to crap, nobody comes to play, thus less or no profits. And that helps NOBODY.
You need better management to figure out these things.

Poor conditions/bad management
This course has a great potential but management needs to step up. The course layout is great and tough.
Employees are not friendly, going so far as to be rude! There are not enough employees to run efficiently! Beer cart girl didn’t show until 11. Food shack wasn’t open. Only one person in pro shop and she was getting the carts too. I guess if you golf early, you don’t get amenities! And the course was packed with tee times every 7 minutes until 11. Poor planning!
The course opened after several closed days of rain. The course was a mud pit. Advanced notice on this would have been good to know! And to continue to charge full price for it is wrong! The drainage is horrible!

A return favorite
I can’t say why it took me so long to return to Odyssey. This course offers a truly wide variety of of shots and routings. The green complexes present an interesting and challenging mix of slope and speed.
Truth be told, this course is quite a challenge for intermediate and low handicap golfers alike. I’ve already returned twice, and I think I’ll make the Odyssey a part of my regular rota for the foreseeable future.

Never Again
This place has fallen off the rails. The quality of the course continues to deteriorate at an exponential pace. It’s almost like they don’t have a grounds crew.
Unfortunately, that’s not even the worst part. The pace of play has to be amongst the slowest around.

Great course, terrible pace of play
Very nice course and layout. Plenty of water and bunker hazards. Course in nice shape and is one of the better courses in the area. Drawbacks that can/should be worked on: Pace of play - 5.5 hours to play 18. Ranger driving around but did nothing from what I noticed. Called in and was put on hold twice; never picked up again. No bartender at clubhouse at turn. Had to find someone. No beverage cart on course (2 pm on a Saturday). Had to wait to just before tee time to get a cart. All issues seem to be with staff or managing the facility. But the golf course is great if you have the time!

Course in outstanding condition in 2021
I routinely play this course every year. In 2021 this is the best condition the course has been in the past few years. The greens were manicured perfectly. The rough was cut nicely and made play easier and avoided lost balls. The fairways were in terrific condition as well. Thanks for preparing the course for all of the golfers to enjoy playing here.

Way toooo ssslllooowww!
Nice and friendly staff, real good layout, and good conditions. Compliments stop there.
No ranger which allowed the foursome in front of us to slow down the entire course. A 5 hour round is not fun. They stood around talking on the tees, in the fairways, and on the greens. They also walked through green side bunkers if that was the easiest path to their cart. These were grown ups oblivious to pace and golf etiquette.
It is too bad that I won’t play this nice golf course again.
