About
Odyssey Country Club is a challenging layout that was designed by Harry Bower and two-time U.S. Open winner Curtis Strange. Strange won in 1988 and 1989, putting him in the company of only six others in the century-long history of the U.S. Open. His influence is apparent in all the strategic elements of the golf course as well as the risk-reward options. This demanding layout is not exactly beginner friendly. Staying on the fairways is crucial or your ball will be met with deep rough. Water is also a prominent presence on the golf course. Twelve holes either feature a water hazards or play along the water's edge. Odyssey Country Club's 16th hole is memorable for its tricky island green, which naturally draws comparisons to the famous 17th at TPC Sawgrass.

the course finally dried out
the course has a nice layout, but it's always wet if you play it after three weeks of no rain it's good

Couse needs maintenance
Course playing ok tee boxes need work. A few fair ways held water and need some work too.
Need to make sure only foursomes are out not sixsomes!
Great course
This is one of my favorite courses to play in the Chicagoland area. It’s challenging and in great shape. The staff is really friendly and money from your round benefits Veterans.
Try it - you will definitely not be disappointed! It’s a 40 minute drive for me. There are a lot of closer courses, but I’ve played this one 6 times this season and hope to get many more rounds in before winter hits.

Nice course - slow play
Good layout. Worth it if you get a deal. Pace of play was painfully slow. Too many newbie "Covid" golfers who think they are tour pros as they wait to hit par 5's in 2 from 300 yards out. So ridiculous. Spend some time on the range and take a lesson. Also, learn proper etiquette with regards to other patrons and the course. Maybe a ranger doing something would help.

It is a great course but numerous fairways were very wet in the middle of a hot summer.
Good Course, Not So Good Shape
Nice course, but its seen better days. Needs some upkeep! Greens are kind of beat up (bumpy), few of the fairways are in need of repair, and there’s geese poop EVERYWHERE!!!
Course still has great potential...hopefully they fix before it’s too late!
Great value
I was very pleased at the price that we played at this facility. Great value and a fun round. The greens were a little slow but overall was a great time.
Nice course. Fairly forgiving. Pretty. Greens had just been slit cut, which was unfortunate. Guy in the pro shop seems to struggle with on line bookings.
