Fun Course
This course has some fun holes. It was in decent shape the day I played. They didn't have any range balls available when I played. The rough was pretty deep. My playing partner lost a couple balls that only missed the fairway by a few yards. Overall it is a fun course. Bring a couple of balls you don't mind taking for a swim for 18. If there isn't a strong headwind, then the longer hitters can carry the water and drive the green.
hard to find
The course was nice. Ifelt the rough Was long making it harf to find your ball. this made play slow
.
Great Day
I absolutely love this course. The only thing I would change is that maybe they should have a little better signage on getting to the course.
Saturday golf
Great course for the value. Friendly staff and great drink prices.
Always a good one
Great course at this price point. Never get tired of playing here.
Acorns is terrific
Great course for beginners, there is a lot of open holes and it is very forgiving. The are large, and moderately difficult. This is one of my favorite courses in the Greater STL area
An oak from a mighty acorn grows
Good layout and the greens are in good condition. The tee boxes are in some need of work: limbs, ragged, and no steps when needed. I will go back to play in the summer
Sloppy but fun!
Course was sloppy but that's to be expected this time of year. Only complaint has to do with other golfers who don't fix their ball marks. I'll be back after it greens up!
Nice course - rough too high
Overall the course was in good shape. Pace of play was excellent. The rough was quite high, unsure why as the weather would have been conducive to cutting it.; made it very difficult to find balls not hit in fairway. The greens had just been aerated and sanded so the ball didn't roll true but this was unavoidable. It was a beautiful fall day for playing golf so these concerns didn't spoil the day.
Could be really nice...
Interesting layout with good greens. Facilities need a lot of tlc. Overall, worth playing occasionally.
Impeccable staff!
saturday was my first time ever playing there I had a tee off time as a single the course pro there hook me up with 13 of the finest group of guys I've ever met and enjoyed the whole day.I stuck around the 19th hole and the waitresses were outstanding! the course was fun you have to manage your ball on it in order to score, will go back very soon!
Hidden Gem
This place is great. Dave Stites (pro) is a great teacher. The course is maintained very well, conditions are always excellent. 5 sets of tees for golfers of all skill. White tees were playing long this time.
Nice Course, But!
Acorn Golf Links is a nice layout, with attractive scenery. It is well conditioned, and the greens, although pretty beat up with unfixed ball marks, putt well and are smooth. The one objection I found was the 5+ hour pace of play. If the almost 3 hour front nine as not bad enough, when I made the turn I discovered they had started a new group ahead of us at the 10th hole.
Great course for under $30
Short course with several tricky holes. Would play this course often if it was closer to me. The only thing in the down side is yardage markers seem to be inconsistent and not accurate.
Awesome course
Great place to play, challenging and fun, I would defiantly go back!
Enjoyable day!
The staff was great. Finding the 1st tee was a little difficult, once we did, the rest of the course was easily done. Very nice course, a few holes are a challenge, 1 and 2 for sure. Hilly and blind corners. Hope to return soon!
Beautiful course
Played my first round at Acorns and loved it. Does have some disappearing fairways but it makes for a more challenging round. I gave the course condition 4 stars only because of Mother Nature, fairways were getting dried out because the lack of rain but still very playable. Can't wait to play there again.
Nice day on the course.
Conditions were good even though rough was pretty dry in quite a few places. Greens played fast, grass collars were good. Plenty of areas to get into trouble with water. Friendly people and nice facility.
Acorns review
Great course and friendly staff. Great facility. New carts. Fast greens. Clean Johnny's. Great beverage selection.
Nice course, needs range
Nice very playable course. Scenic views without all of the houses. Probably because it's off the beaten path--not easy to find your first time. But if you can move the ball this is a good course to test your skills. Many holes are shorter and require something other than your driver. If you can draw or fade a fairway metal these holes are easy. If not, good luck. The course needs a real range, tough to warm-up on this one.
