There are two championship golf courses available at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club in West Chicago as well as a top-ranked practice center. The Joe Jemsek Course, formerly known as the Lakewood, was added in 1929, three years after the club opened. Unlike the original St. Andrews Course, the Joe Jemsek Course has a hillier terrain. Although it is shorter than the other golf course at 6,770 yards, the elevation changes make it seem similar in length to the 6,920-yard St. Andrews Course. The course features tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers, offering plenty of challenges but overall it is not an overly intimidating layout for beginners. There are several long and demanding par 3s throughout. The best example being the tricky second hole, which has a green that is guarded by two deep bunkers and towering trees.

Great course but
The course was great but we were unable to finish the course because the staff kept harrasing us to return the carts by 645p. We were at the cusp of finishing up the 17th hole but were stopped in our tracks by staff who demanded that the carts be returned. A gentleman in out group was able to continue to the18th hole because he did not rent a cart.
OK Day
greens rolling nice. fairway and rough good shape. very slow service at half way
Nice Course
Always enjoy St.Andrew's. Well maintained but looking a little tired. Seems like they need to start a serious tree replanting initiative. Great staff.
Nice old course
Lots of big mature trees. Good amount of sand. Very little water. Big greens. Well maintained.
Disapointed
Thought I had a good deal but, ended up having to pay for the full cart even though it was just me. An extra $20 when the round was only $27. The range was closed when I arrived at 8 am. I wont go back as a single due to their cart costs.
Fun course
Good layout for the Jemsek course. Your staff were fantastic. Our first time here, not sure where to go or what to do. Every single employee was helpful and bar staff were awesome after the round.
Goose Droppings
Our group always enjoys playing St Andrews except for two items: Prepaying except for cart if riding and lately too many goose droppings on several holes. .Otherwise the course is usually in good shape.
Maintenence
Need more sand on carts lots if divots. Really deep rough people looking for balls made slow play no Marshall.
