About
There are two championship golf courses available at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club in West Chicago as well as a top-ranked practice center. The Joe Jemsek Course, formerly known as the Lakewood, was added in 1929, three years after the club opened. Unlike the original St. Andrews Course, the Joe Jemsek Course has a hillier terrain. Although it is shorter than the other golf course at 6,770 yards, the elevation changes make it seem similar in length to the 6,920-yard St. Andrews Course. The course features tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers, offering plenty of challenges but overall it is not an overly intimidating layout for beginners. There are several long and demanding par 3s throughout. The best example being the tricky second hole, which has a green that is guarded by two deep bunkers and towering trees.

good shape
always a good course to walk n a good hot deal for 22 beans. Course was in excellent condition. They should use some of their money n build some bathrooms on the two courses

Great place to play golf
Love how the course is laid out. Fairways are pretty open. Not a lot of water. They also have good food in the clubhouse.

Great Course outside Chicago
I played the Joe course at St. Andrew's on Saturday, and it was a really great course. Every hole is a fun, unique layout. The greens are fair but really challenging. The course is really well maintained. I play golf 2-3 times a week, and I ranked this course in my "A-list". I will be back.

March Golf
I have played St. Andrews for 40 Years but I was again thrilled and amazed at the FABULOUS conditioning of the course on Sunday 3/13. The greens were wonderful. Congradulations to the Staff for always providing Great Golf Value !!

Early Spring Golf
Look, I know courses won’t be in pristine condition in early March, but this course should not have been open. 13 out of the 18 greens were completely covered in snow and not playable. Also, the 17th hole was not even walkable. I had to pull my pushcart through 150 yards of shin deep snow and slush to get to the snow covered green. It would have been nice for the course to put an advisory notification on the tee time so I was made aware of conditions prior to them stealing $40 from me and the 250 other golfers the starter told me they had on property.
That will be the last cent this place ever gets from me.

Horrible (Snow Job) Value
I would give them a break if it wasn't such a money-grab. Yes, its Chicagoland in March. Still, after several days of snow melting elsewhere, this course unfortunately remained 80% covered in snow, and did not communicate the conditions. This is mostly annoying, yet the course could have easily stated what condition it was in and let the customer decide. Instead it has a "prepay, no refund" policy and let its customers show up to play a course that had one--ONE-- putt-able green. The facilities are dated. Some tee boxes are surrounded with chain-linked fencing. The push carts are dilapidated, at best. The course lacks interesting contour or shape. It's a hard pass for $41 whether or not 80% is covered in snow. (The pictures show what I mean)

Course should have been closed
On Saturday March 6 I would say about 70-80% of the fairways and tee boxes were covered in snow. About 90-95% of greens were covered in snow. At. Andrews golf course should have been closed, but since they don’t care for players safety and want to just make some quick money from avid golfers they let people play. On a non snow day course is ok.. there are much better courses for the $ out there.

Course was covered in snow. Especially greens making it unplayable. I had friends play in area the day prior and played a playable course. They should not have had people paying to play in the conditions we had.
Destination Kohler - Champions' Trail Golf Package
Thank you for your feedback. Here are the current bathroom locations (Bathrooms are limited in the off-season when freezing pipes are a possibility):
C1: Port-a-Potty between holes 4 & 5; Half-Way-House at 9
C2: Half-Way-House at 2, 5, & 8; Bathroom building at 6, 12, & 16.
These are the specific locations but all bathrooms are also accessible from other holes that are close by.
