Opened in 1926, in the "Classical ERA" of U.S. course development, St. Andrews Golf & Country Club has been recognized as the oldest family owned-operated golf course in Illinois.
St. Andrews Golf & Country Club was originally built in 1926 as a rival to the Chicago Golf Club. Since then, the club has built its own reputation and stands out for its two championship golf courses and top-ranked practice center. The St. Andrews Course is the club's original layout before the Joe Jemsek Course was added in 1929. It is also the longer of the two golf courses. The club and course draw their name from the famous Scottish club known as the "home of golf," but the course is far from being a seaside links. Instead, the mostly flat layout weaves through mature trees. The golf course offers a challenge with tight, tree-lined doglegs and large, contoured greens framed with sand bunkers. It has a memorable finish with a par 4 that features a water hazard along the entire right side of the fairway.

Pretty easy course.
Area is pretty wide so you have space to hit the ball pretty easy lots of par 4s.

Wet round great greens
Been raining so much course was wet but greens were in great shape. Very fast for early season. Probably could have used ranger speeding up one or two groups but overall great round

February golf in Illinois
For being in February in Illinois the course was in great shape. Alls it needed was some ball washers out every few holes. The staff is great. I parred the first two holes with GIR’s. It took me til the 3 rd hole to pick up my bad habits

Friendlier Staff
Used to be that the Staff there were a bit hardliners, especially the starters, however nowadays they are a lot better understanding and accommodating. Bob was great! I walked the course and misplaced a headcover back on the front 9. He allowed me to take a cart after my round to look for it, which I was able to find! So this favor helped out! Thanks Bob!

Great Course for Off Season!
First time playing here, but I'll definitely be back in the warmer weather again. They have a driving range and putting practice area. The parking lot is huge. The carts are nice, I didn't use one but they did appear to be equipped with GPS. The only thing I did notice is that there really wasn't any rest rooms. Otherwise, excellent course. I honestly couldn't believe how nice the condition was for being February!

Excellent Round
Overall a great experience. Staff was very friendly and accommodating and the course was in tremendous shape for the weather, snow and cold that has slammed Illinois.
