Opened in 1926, in the "Classical ERA" of U.S. course development, St. Andrews Golf & Country Club has been recognized as the oldest family owned-operated golf course in Illinois.
St. Andrews Golf & Country Club was originally built in 1926 as a rival to the Chicago Golf Club. Since then, the club has built its own reputation and stands out for its two championship golf courses and top-ranked practice center. The St. Andrews Course is the club's original layout before the Joe Jemsek Course was added in 1929. It is also the longer of the two golf courses. The club and course draw their name from the famous Scottish club known as the "home of golf," but the course is far from being a seaside links. Instead, the mostly flat layout weaves through mature trees. The golf course offers a challenge with tight, tree-lined doglegs and large, contoured greens framed with sand bunkers. It has a memorable finish with a par 4 that features a water hazard along the entire right side of the fairway.

Hot day. Only one group in front of us so things were moving well. Greens were good but people need to fix divots.

Over book and over charge - Cart fees not included $$
FYI - $19 PER rider, or $38 per cart. It came to $74/ person.
Pace of play was horrible. Too many golfers. They over book and over charge. I would recommend Ruffled Feathers instead for the same price. Or try Bartlett Hills for cheaper.

Holes too close to each other – easy to hit your shot to the other fairway or towards the other players. Condition of the golf course is less than optimal.

For the average golfer, this course is great. Very good experience. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful.
A Chicago Classic
We enjoyed everything about the experience at Saint Andrews yesterday. The greens, bunkers and fairways were in tip top condition.
The storied clubhouse bar was staffed by a great server.
All in all a great experience.

I was a little disappointed that I had to pay for a golfer that had a last minute cancellation in our foursome. I thought maybe a raincheck would have been a nice gesture as we play out there quite a bit. The pace a of play was really slow as well. Seemed like they definitely had enough golfers out there yesterday (too many) to force me to pay for the 4th that dropped out.
I typically really enjoy the course atmosphere out there.
