About
Chevy Chase Country Club (formerly known as Traditions at Chevy Chase Country Club) in Wheeling is one of Chicagoland's top public golf facilities. Thomas Bendelow designed the golf course in 1925. The classic layout remained largely the same until 2002 when a major renovation updated the course and made it more challenging. The layout now has deep pot bunkers lined with tall native fescue that border the generous, rolling greens and undulating fairways. Though it is more challenging than it was, the golf course still offers a player-friendly round. Four sets of tees also ensure that golfers can play to their skill level. The course finishes with its signature hole, a par 5 that features water both left and right of the landing area off the tee. Three massive bunkers and yet another pond all fiercely guard the green as well.

I just moved here from FL. I plan on making this my home course. My goal is to beat it to par from back tees by the end of the summer. I only wish there was a "frequent player" card as I plan to play at least 12x per month, walking after work (4pm.)

Tradition at the Chevy Chase did not disappoint
As soon as we pulled into the parking lot a staff member came greeted us and dropped off a cart cart!
He directed us to the pro shop to check in and told us about the putting green and their hitting bay.
Tee times were 10mins apart didn’t have to wait for too many shots for our round and we finished just under 4 hours.
Greens were true and speed was decent; some tee boxes shown usage but can’t complain since it’s the last day of a long weekend with great weather!
Do stop by their patio and get their Philly cheese steak sandwich or enjoy a post round drink if you have time !

Players! Repair your ball marks on putting greens!
The staff is always very friendly. The pace of play was extremely slow on the second half of the front nine… ended up joining another two some to make four some, but even then we had to wait 5-10 minutes to tee off on hole 5-9. The players playing this course are not very good at repairing divots on the putting green surface…. Frustrating to repair several marks on each hole to clear the putting line. Overall good condition and will certainly be back again.

Kinda EZ
Very open course. Wide fairways, trees which never came into play and only a couple hole with water. Overall just okay and it took 4 1/2 hours to play.

Good course nice value
The pace was bad people in front were putting out each hole removing the flag and were walking. We were in carts took us 4.5 hours we waited every hole. My sons birthday and he plays course often probably play other places before this again Deerfield winnetka Glencoe wilmette are all good options. Should have someone monitor the pace of play could have let us play through at 10.

Tremendous value
Played a 6am Sunday round here and will definitely be back. Fairways and greens were in great shape. Fun layout that is challenging but not overly so. The early round made for a quick pace of play - finished in under 4 hours. One of the best values in the area.
Like usual, course was great
I have played CC a handful of times and each time it is challenging yet fun. The grounds crew takes very good care of the greens and the fairways are always well maintained. WIll definitely be going back a couple more times this year

Great time!!
I had tee time at 7am but with frost warning, started playing at 8:10am with 2 other gentlemen. We all walked 18holes and it was great round. Great course, well maintained
Good course with poor pace of play.
Paired with a great group of guys but unfortunately almost a five hour round of golf. Slow play really took away from the experience waiting and waiting each hole particularly on the back nine.
