About
Chevy Chase Country Club (formerly known as Traditions at Chevy Chase Country Club) in Wheeling is one of Chicagoland's top public golf facilities. Thomas Bendelow designed the golf course in 1925. The classic layout remained largely the same until 2002 when a major renovation updated the course and made it more challenging. The layout now has deep pot bunkers lined with tall native fescue that border the generous, rolling greens and undulating fairways. Though it is more challenging than it was, the golf course still offers a player-friendly round. Four sets of tees also ensure that golfers can play to their skill level. The course finishes with its signature hole, a par 5 that features water both left and right of the landing area off the tee. Three massive bunkers and yet another pond all fiercely guard the green as well.

Nice Course, but
Need a better clubhouse menu
Why does it cost more to book online vs. calling in, much simpler to book online and should not have an added fee to it, very confusing and disappointing

Great course and in excellent shape... just needs a driving range!
Chevy is a great course and a very good value for the price. The staff is friendly, and course is in nice shape, and it's a solid challenge for every level of player. The biggest drawback is certainly the lack of a range and it seems crazy that a course that size in the suburbs hasn't found a way to let players warm up, but if you can get loose somewhere else and play there, it's a fantastic spot.

Good course...challenging and well maintained
Course in very good condition although sand in bunkers could use some attention. Course has some challenging holes so it's a good test. Only problem was pace of play. We had a tee time of 6.30am and at this time of day, we typically can get around other courses in less than 3.5 hours. This round was over 4.5 hours and would have been longer if we hadn't asked to play through the group ahead. No sign of any rangers on the course reminding people to keep up with the group ahead.

Great course
Fun layout, really nice greens and overall course conditions. Pace of play was close to 5 hours but still had a great time. Can't wait to play here again

Wet Chevy
Nice course with good mix of gettable and tough holes. Only drawback was a lot of wet areas due to possible over-watering.

Early senior rate
Played early to make use of early senior rate. Very good enticement for us old guys. Had a twosome only and we finished in 3:20 minutes! Good conditions. Friendly
