About
Chevy Chase Country Club (formerly known as Traditions at Chevy Chase Country Club) in Wheeling is one of Chicagoland's top public golf facilities. Thomas Bendelow designed the golf course in 1925. The classic layout remained largely the same until 2002 when a major renovation updated the course and made it more challenging. The layout now has deep pot bunkers lined with tall native fescue that border the generous, rolling greens and undulating fairways. Though it is more challenging than it was, the golf course still offers a player-friendly round. Four sets of tees also ensure that golfers can play to their skill level. The course finishes with its signature hole, a par 5 that features water both left and right of the landing area off the tee. Three massive bunkers and yet another pond all fiercely guard the green as well.

Slow play today
We got behind two knuckle heads on the back 9 that took 2 1/2 hours. They ended up 4 to 5 holes behind. Not an enjoyable round. The greens were recently aerated. They were very slow and bumpy. Not what I’m used to at Chevy Chase. I’m sure they will recover.
Greens are in tough shape
It’s early in the season but some greens are patchy. Hopefully when we get through spring the condition will get better, especially the green on #8. The course is a great track and I’m confident the grounds crew will get everything where it needs to be.
Great place to start the season
I really like Chevy Chase golf club, and yesterday was just another great day there, The weather was warm for March, and we had to contend with a blustery wind, but it was nice overall. The course was in good shape, being able to ride off the cart paths was wonderful, and the greens were rolling surprisingly well.
We did have to wait a bit longer than usual, but we chalked that off to playing in thr afternoon.
Incorrectly charged?
Charged $23.60 for res. Fees and then charged $46.25 at the course for what should have been a $58 round.

Beautiful weather, 70 degrees. Challenging course with 20 mile hour winds coming from SW
Great Track
Fun course if you want to use every club in the bag. Will go back 100%!

Wonderful experience. Course was in GREAT shape
Greens were true and fairly fast
It was in very good shape. Took 4:10 for 18 holes. On a Sunday that’s a good pace
It’s a good track for all golfers. I wish some would play the correct tees
Please fix ball marks on greens. I fixed at least 5 on e e every hole
