About
Chevy Chase Country Club (formerly known as Traditions at Chevy Chase Country Club) in Wheeling is one of Chicagoland's top public golf facilities. Thomas Bendelow designed the golf course in 1925. The classic layout remained largely the same until 2002 when a major renovation updated the course and made it more challenging. The layout now has deep pot bunkers lined with tall native fescue that border the generous, rolling greens and undulating fairways. Though it is more challenging than it was, the golf course still offers a player-friendly round. Four sets of tees also ensure that golfers can play to their skill level. The course finishes with its signature hole, a par 5 that features water both left and right of the landing area off the tee. Three massive bunkers and yet another pond all fiercely guard the green as well.

Classic
Great staff, nice course and a classic layout. Wish had a range and could use a range every once in a while to keep things moving.
Playable
A very gettable course for anyone. Greens are very slow so good for begging players because your putting won't sail on you. Very tough for better putters because ball speed is so slow wether you chip up or putting.
Solid, Enjoyable Course
There is not too much to say for this course other than it had some unique holes, provided adequate challenge, and was in good condition. It was a bit overpriced and I thought the pace of play was a bit slow, but all things considered it was enjoyable.
Aerated greens
First off id like to say I enjoy This course. I have played this couple of times now. It has good layout and it’s well taken care of.
Here is my issue I ran into my last round. Aerated greens with no mention from the staff or discount on green fee. You really should let your customers know that you aerated. You should also offer a discount.
The other issue I ran into. They charge a single $20 for a cart. Green fee was $27. So it’s almost double the round to ride in a cart? Cart I used had an old score card in it, so they aren’t even cleaning them and charging $20… $10 I would understand. $20? Just ripping off your customers.
4 hours and 15 minutes for a Thursday 730 tee time is too long. They need rangers out there keeping pace even if it means ticking off a few old guys. Not everyone golfing on a weekday is retired.
Poor conditions
I know it’s late season, but the course is in pretty rough shape. Dry mud spots on the greens, ball marks everywhere. Obviously there are golfers who do not do their own part but it seems like the maintenance is barely doing anything or even attempting to upkeep the course. It’s a fine course but for $75 I’d expect more
