Great value
This course is ALWAYS very well maintained, fairways, above expectation, greens are always a severe challenge. This course is extremely well maintained, even this early in tbe year. Ground crew and maintenance always better than expected. Carts are always in great shape, no ripped seats, great running condition.
And most importantly, the bar area and patio gives you a btfl view of 9th and 18th hole. Great beverage prices, great food. Even if your not a golfer, stop in for a drink! Very nice course, and club
Great course conditions
Only complaint i have is that sometimes it smells like dookie but really not that bad. As well as roads being close. Other than that great course in general. Greens are fast and fun for this price range.

Fun course
Early in season so 4 star conditions will be 5 in another month. Like this course a lot and give it high recommendation.

Challenging greens
Excellent golf course. Long fairways and challenging greens. You’ve got to stay on the fairways to make par. If not on the fairways you be dealing with high slopes or tough rough. Pin placement is tricky and very fast greens. Extremely challenging but fun golf course.
Disappointing round
I have been playing this course since it opened and have enjoyed it. Unfortunately, pace of play was very slow once we reached the 7th hole and for the time since playing golf, I walked off the course after hole 12. My playing partner stayed and indicated the round was almost five hours. No ranger was in sight although I was told pace of play was being monitored. I will still consider this course for future play as the layout is both challenging and rewarding.

These were the toughest and somewhat unfair pin placements that I have seen on the course.

What a value!
Finally drove up from the City to check out Shepherds Crook and I was not disappointed. Course was in great shape, the layout is fantastic and it was a lot of fun to play. Greens were large, undulating and fast! It is a course that both low and high handicappers will enjoy playing! If that wasn't enough, the cost was great. One of the best values in the Chicago area!
