Everything you want in a round of golf.
Perfect place to have a enjoyable round of golf. Near perfect conditions.
Over Priced - Staff Unfriendly to Golfnow Customer
Wicker is an old municipal golf course that should be (and has previously been) a $10 hot deal. The staff was very unfriedly and unaccomodating to me as a golfnow customer and I've heard the same from other golfnow customers ... i.e. I was there a little early one cloudy day on a hot deal as a single and nobody wad teeing off or even waiting to tee off. The weather was overcast cloudy and rain was expected later that afternoon. Because if the weather, I didnt even expect to get 18 holes in and there were very few people playing out on the course. But because I booked a hot deal on golfnow, they wouldn't let me tee off a little early, ... the guy running this dump actually told me "we don't make any money from golfnow tee times". Totally unprofessional. As a $24 hot deal this year, I won't play Wicker anymore and I certainly won't reccomend Wicker ... because it's absolutely NO deal. In the past, I've experienced excessively long rounds due to slow play, and because there's no ranger out on the course to manage and keep slow play moving. This course has mediocre greens, crummy long bluegrass fairways, leaves and dead branches all over the course, and the worst "unplayable" bunkers (if you could call them bunkers) you'll find in NWI. There's plenty of other golfnow player friendly courses on here that are in much better playing condition and offer far better value.
Good value for decent course
Decent course layout as long as you are ok with a flat course. Had rain the day before and was restricted to cart paths only for cart. Course wasn’t very wet so not sure why that was in place. Only other issue was the greens were pretty chewed up. Overall,, a pretty good course with some challenge
Good bang for your buck
The weather has been rough this year so all things considered the course was in good shape. Nice and wide open. Will play again.
Accomodating
Booked 1056 am tee time. My friend got caught in traffic and we missed our time but starter got us out by 1115.
Great value for your dollar.
Well maintained. Beautiful Greens good speed. Very nice people working there.
Best it's ever been
I've been playing Wicker since I was 11.
They finally got it right.
It's a great place now.
Could use a better restraunt instead of just a bar.
Wicker doing great
Wicker Park golf is doing a great job.
I've been playing wicker since I was 11 years old and is in the best condition it's ever been.
Still a little cickish but they do a great job.
Worst golfing experience in the region
The guys who run the shop and office are terrible with customers. They seem to hate any users of this app or any millennial in fact. Been there twice last year and once a few weeks ago in April. Every time they give a bad attitude.
Pace of play is unbearable sometimes when foursomes or seniors take there sweet time and walk while not letting carts or singles through.
Won’t be going back maybe unless it was for free.
Course layout isn’t bad but the terrain makes play hard.
Wouldn’t recommend when there are many other courses in the region that are better
Pleasure to Play
4 hr round of golf. Superb conditions. Soft & Fast greens. Everything you want in a round of golf.
Range
I've come to this course 3 times, trying to get some practice in on the Range. One excuse after another it's going to be dark in a half an hour. It's 615, the range closes at 6:30, we're not picking up any more balls now. That makes no sense it's a driving range it's not dark people want to practice, I'll find somewhere else to practice and pay my money to other people
First time here in about 20 years. There was a bunch of older women who showed up to play before my tee time. There were about 5+ groups so the round took longer that it should have. Thats why a low rating for pace of play. Other than that it was a good time.
