Forest Park Municipal Golf Course

Read my previous reviews for more info. Greens were a tad bumpy this day....a bit wet with lots of footprints. A really cool old school back nine which is very tight and very sporty. I enjoy this place.....fun to play at least one a year. An interesting routing, decent beverage prices, nice folks. What more could you ask? 3.5 stars - $30 value.

Course overall was really beautiful and fun to play.

Greens were kept up pretty well and fairways were marked clearly for the most part.

$32 with a cart... Can't beat that.

Cons: Golf Cart 14 takes about 10 seconds to start moving

Tee boxes weren't in the best shape with un fixed divots but to be fair we haven't had alot of rain

We also got a complaint by a group of 2 that we were taking to long however, if the guy who drove out to find us did the math we were actually on schedule and could have saved himself the confrontation.

The fairways are very narrow in the wrong places. We have not had rain in the last few days, however, no lawn mowers seem to have been on the course. Every ball that was even a yard into the rough took way to long to find.

It's a nice hidden gem in Porter County and is always in great shape. We had nice weather, fast greens and well manicured fairways. On top of that, my friend had a hole in 1 on #8, a long par 3!

Course was in great shape, Hot Deal price made the value wonderful!

Staff is always courteous and friendly. Pace of play was perfect.

Will definitely be back for multiple more rounds!

Read my review from 4/23/16. No range, no water jugs on course. Nice $5 hot dog deal with chips and soda at the turn. 1st hole and 2nd hole of the tees they dug holes to help with flood control and these areas are in very rough shape...still recovering and can influence your tee shot. The rest of the course, greens, tees and fairways are in decent shape. This course is an enjoyable play with a fun routing....the back nine is totally old school and a tad short but still commands your attention and contains some really tight holes. 3.75 stars. Folks in the clubhouse very nice and welcoming. If I lived in or near Valpo I'd had no issue playing this course at least a couple of times a year.

Forest park is a great golf course. The front nine is really nice, but wait till th back nine! Amazing!

#1 hole is still a work in progress, some traps sand needs to be loosened up. Overall I keep this course as a bargain and has nice elevation changes and more old school layouts on back nine

Love playing this course ! The staff is by far the best around. I couldn't say enough good things about Beth, Bob and the rest of the staff!

Played by myself with pace of play that was fast at first, but slowed on the last 4 or 5 holes. Rolling terrain made play interesting and the course was in good shape considering the high amount of rain recently.. I would recommend this course to all level of golfers.

I had a wonderful time at this track. It was my 1st time here, and i will definantely come back here. The layout was easy to follow and the scenery was also great. Staff was really above par. Felt very welcome here.

Course was fun, difficult at times. Greens were fast. We'll be back again.

We were looking for a place to play between Ohio and Chicago, and found Forest Park using my golf now app. And it turned out to be a great choice! Course conditions were excellent, and I especially enjoyed the greens. They were just soft enough to hold a good iron shot, and yet I didn't see any old pitch marks. A true testament to the quality of the staff and local golfers!

I had not played Forest Park in several years and put it on my short list of tracks I wanted to play again this year. My playing partners and I were impressed with the overall condition of the course. Fairways, greens and tee boxes were well manicured, unlike many of the other courses we have played this year. Yes, the course is short, perhaps a little too short, but it can be tight and "tricked Up" in several areas. I recommend Forest Park, as they always seem to put the emphasis on keeping this place in great shape.

Always liked the course and usually play here a couple times a year. Course was in very good condition except a few tee boxes were hard as concrete. The difference between the 2 nines makes for an interesting round.
