University Club never disappoints
Wildcat course in great shape, hope to play it again soon
Pitch mark obstacle course!
The course was in great condition as always. Would highly recommend both courses at the University Club to anyone. The Wildcat Course has a good layout with many challenges every hole.
The pace of play was slow and no one allowing faster groups to play through. Don’t know if they have rangers around the courses.
The biggest issue was all the un-repaired pitch marks of the greens. I was always taught when growing up learning the game and proper golf etiquette, to repair your pitch mark plus one more. I could have repaired a dozen on every green while my playing partners were putting out. Sad that people don’t know the rules!
Over hyped
Slow pace. And horrible cart path. Not the quality you would expect for the price. The Big Blue course is way better.
Overall good course
Even with a lot of rain this past week the conditions were good, greens and fairways soft and a good overall experience
Normally a nice golf experience
I enjoy the golf course generally, but today was not great. Clubhouse service was disinterested, sand traps were hard packed and in some places muddy and the grass mowing crews seemed determined to stay with us for most of the round. A noisy and distracting golf experience at a course that typically is worth a good recommendation.
Lost it’s beauty and fun
Greens were extremely slow and poorly cut. Course is de-conditioned and the worst I have ever seen it. Used to be one of the best courses around. Plus they had a tournament playing on a Sunday for junior women which made for a six hour round. Long day on a poor conditioned course.
Neglected Beauty
If you get the choice, play Big Blue. All the money goes into that course leaving Wildcat a disappointment. Late May aeration of the greens leaving dime-size hole (unfilled) mostly. Cart paths scraped like they might be getting ready to pave which would be an improvement. Rough is high making it hard to find your ball slowing play way down. Lots of nice courses in the area so take a pass until they put some money and work into it.
Worth the money
Of course is a very good layout is very challenging but needs work on tee boxes and sand traps.
It was a great course. Only problem is they double booked. I reserved online and the staff took phone in tee times without checking website. They did accommodate us. It is very uncomfortable since we were a foursome of women. (We play fast and waited on group in front of us all day)
Course in nice shape
Course is in good shape
Greens rolled very true
Nice course not many memorable holes though
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
This course is in TERRIBLE condition, absolutely cheeks. Any putt is subject to random unexpected bounces due to the crappy greens. The cart paths are falling apart and full of holes. The tee boxes only have certain parts that have good enough grass to hit off. No information markers at the majority of the tee boxes. I booked a “hot deal” that was exactly $40 after fees, if you are near Lexington pretty much any other course is a better value. Only positive was that I played midday during the week and the course was wide open.
