University Club of Kentucky - Wildcat Course

Course was in excellent shape. It was much harder than your average public course. My only complaints are the cart paths and bunkers. The cart paths looked and felt like an earthquake had destroyed them. And the bunkers had hardly and sand in them. I found the billy bunker system with my new Cleveland wedge which I was not happy about. Other than that I was very happy with my round on the wildcat course.

Pretty good track for the money. My only problem was needs starter on weekends. Pace of play was terrible and bunkers had zero sand in them. That being said course was good shape and fairways,

Spend a little money and these things easy fix.I would definitely play again.

Played years ago and course was awesome! Played yesterday and greens not in good shape and the cart paths where terrible! Better riding off of them than on them! Worst in the State!

Course was in great shape. Little slow due to number of rounds on the course but not terrible. An absolute value in Central Kentucky.

A good course...greens were quick...but had a lot of dead spots...also dead spots in the fairways (burned)...the bunkers were hard as a rock...almost impossible to hit out of them. It was worth the $25 I paid (on special), but certainly not more.

Course is in great condition minus 3 greens that had recently been aerated. I really enjoy the layout.

Was off at 7:45 was done by 10:15 Had some interesting holes. Greens were great. Only problem was cart path beats you up. Very pleasant working personnel Would play again

The course conditions were good for this time of year. Will play here again this summer!

The course was nice, but the staff had a ..could care less attitude, I told him it was my first time playing this course and he offered no advice, I had to ask where the 1st hole was! Didnt offer a scorecard even though there were none on the cart.

We made it out on Black Friday, on a breezy and overcast day. The course was in good condition for that time of year. The place wasn't busy so the pace of play was fine for a threesome. The bunkers were in average shape and still had some sand. The rough was worn due to a couple of prior freezes. The greens were fast and had recovered well from being aerated.

Good mixture of holes requiring either finesse or length. Excellent par 3's. Definitely would play again on return to area.

Beautiful, easy well built course. Very enjoyable, one of the best playing conditions in the Lexington area

9am tee time on Labor Day Monday. Obviously it's going to be fairly busy, so we expected that. We were a 2-some following a 4-some where 3 of the 4 men were walking. I lead with this so you'll understand why i rated the pace of play as poor. This gave us plenty of time to really look at the course though. Which wasn't a good thing. The Wildcat side seemed like it hand't been watered in weeks! If you had a nice patch of grass to hit from in the fairway, you were LUCKY. Tee boxes weren't great either. Had we paid the quoted price, i'd have demanded a refund for the back 9 at the turn. It's my hope that the Big Blue side is in much better condition. If i were the powers that be at UK, i'd ask my name to be taken off the front signage.

One of the top public courses in town. Very busy on a Saturday afternoon so pace of play was very slow.

Loved the white course layout, a couple of holes were Mickey Mouse but overall good layout. Fairways have seen better days, lot's of bare spots and heavy laden with grass clippings. Greens a bit rough, about like a muni course. Still will play again though!

Play was slow on every hole as we played on a Sat morning, no starters or marshalls out there to keep the pace going,. Course conditions were great, a few greens had some spots on them. Wildcat is a scenic layout, mixed with challenging holes. Plush fairways, thick rough and fast smooth greens.the beverage cart girl didn't make an appearance until the 16th hole, a bit late for us. It a great atmosphere playing out Jerez.

Overall I was mostly pleased with the course, but the fairways needed some love. They were a bit tall and had plenty of dead spots. Greens were decent, and tees were well above average. Pace of play was among the worst I've experienced. Had to wait 15 to 20 mins to tee off on most holes. I would have expected to pay $30 to $35 at most instead of the full $45 weekend rate. The staff was very friendly and informative, this was great being this was my first time playing this course.

It had been several years since I played this course. The greens were in good shape, the staff was friendly and helpful and the weather was beautiful. The biggest negative was the condition of the fairways and the areas surrounding the greens. Some fairways were good others were burnt brown to bare dirt. Strange since we have had an extremely wet year. About a third of the greens appeared to have damage around them (ruts, tracks, etc..) Hopefully these things are scheduled for care and repair. Most of the bunkers were hard and would not leave a foot print. It is such a beautiful facility, with a second 18 hole course (Big Blue) I would hate to see it fall into to disrepair.

fairways were nice and the greens were fine. A few bad spots in the low areas on the fairways from water but other than that they were good.
I would have given the place 5 stars but like most places in Lexington the sand traps and fairway bunkers are filled with concrete sand!! At least it plays that way!
My wish is that people would fix the divots on the greens. It really gets under my skin to see the holes all over then greens from mindless, careless golfers. It happens everywhere not just here.
