Like layout
Bunkers terrible dirt not raked
Fairways not grown in yet early
Greens nice
Tee box nice
Needs some TLC
We played on a pretty wet day. Standing water in more places than not. Greens rolled pretty true but fairways are still brown. For $11 I would play there all the time so great deal with Golfnow. Wouldnt pay much more than that. Course needs some TLC badly.
Glenmary
This course needs some maintenance, many branches & limbs laying around, rough grass needs cutting and cart paths are very bad.
Fair Price, But Course Needs Work
We paid 16 dollars for 9 holes with a cart and felt that wads a pretty good deal for a weekday rate at a course that used to have a solid reputation...Upon arriving, the pro shop appeared closed and there were no carts waiting to be used...We entered anyway and found a nice gentleman who excused the mess surrounding us several times and assured us everything was in order for our tee time...He rang us up and proceeded outside to find us a cart to use...The carts were in good shape, but upon arriving at the first hole, it was evident the course would be a different story...It was a bit soggy, but the rough was in bad shape and the tee boxes seemingly hadn't been manicured in weeks...Several greens were under repair and the bunkers were water logged and looked to be under construction...The course itself is nice and there are easy holes and some that are more challenging, so we had a good time regardless
In summary, this course is maybe better than most public courses in Louisville, but without a good deal on this site, it may be a while before this course holds its value
Horrible condition
This course is in HORRIBLE condition. For example, the least expensive thing any golf course can do is to spray for weeds. It is very apparent that Glenmary has no intention to do anything to improve the course in any way. It is a complete piece of garbage and I will never return, nor will anyone I am friends with. Waste of $ 28, period.
Course needs a ton of work
I have played Glenmary before in the past, and have always enjoyed it. This time, all I can say is it was in the worst shape of any course I have ever played. I understand the bermuda fairways are dormant, but the majority of fairways had been scalped to where you were hitting shots off deadpan from the fairway. Greens and tee boxes were okay, most bunkers had no sand and looked like ground under repair .Will have to give it another shot later in the summer. Hopefully, the fairways come back.
Glenmary
Glen mary is a good layout and good value.
The course has not grown out yet due to the weather but the greens were in great condition. Super friendly staff.
Course was in good condition for early spring.
The course has some really nice looking scenery and some very challenging holes. Really good fairways for this time of year. I will play again this year.
Not in as good of shape as some public courses in town and not as challenging
Had a tee time at 8:15 and no one was there. Had to wait for the staff to show up. They let groups tee off on the back 9 in front of us when we made the turn. Poorly run, manicured and maintained. Many greens had bad spots which affected play.
Decent condition for the winter conditions. We enjoy playing this course and will return.
We enjoy playing this course and will return.
The layout is fun and a challenge
Stay away
Course needs to spend some money on up keeping. Cart paths were becoming gravel and bridge crossing were very sketchy. Fairway are burnt somehow and the rough was very patchy. Green were firm but had dead patches. Will not play again this year
course has good layout
This would have been a good course to play except for the greens were in terrible shape and to have a rake stuck in the pin hole for a flag not professional and we were given a cart that we had to push up a hill just to get back to the club house for the money they charge you would think they could take a little pride in their maintanence and service to the golfers
Enjoyable day on a fun course. Not too many players out on a Saturday, which allowed us to move a great pace.
I enjoy Glenmary for the $25 price. Not sure if I would pay much more than that, but then again I dont get out and play the elite courses around the Metro area. Friendly staff and great hot dogs! Course was in decent shape for this time of year. Not too many leaves left laying around. Will play again for certain.
Could find better for the money
Tee boxes were not in good shape and only one tee box to chosse from. Fairways were in fair shape, a lot of dead and bear areas, Yardage markings very poor, had to guess distance quite a bit and search for any marking on course. greens were in bad shape, looks of dead and sandy spots on greens. Greens rolled slow and bumpy.
Good time with family
For fall time the course is fine. A couple of the greens cannot be use in back of green. Sand traps are hard. Like the lay out. CART PATH NEEDS WORK . WILL BE BACK IN THE SPRING.
Course needs major cart path work, bunkers have no sand in several, a few greens are eaten up
I like the people here a lot, but wish they would spend some money on the place. It needs some work in several areas and could be very nice course
subdivision course and more attention was paid to the building of the subdivision.
a fair value. a decent course with a few maintenence issues. however, more attention was given to the building of the subdivision around the golf course than the golf course itself. the clubhouse was also in need of some obvious repairs and upkeep.
Course is in need of attention and better management.
I know it's mid October and conditions will not be great but the course had poor greens, bunkers, and fairways. The cart paths are almost non existent and wooden bridges and walkways are almost rotten. There were no water coolers on the course and the water fountain did not work in the rundown clubhouse. I went to buy a powerade and the machine did not accept change and would not give me back my dollar. One of the golf carts did not have an emergency break and there is a couple of holes that need the use of an emergency break. If this establishment wants to keep the business they have and gain more, they need a lot of money, and management that cares about the customer experience.
Glenmary for this price was great
Course is showing some wear and tear from the season, the greens need some immediate help or they will be gone for good in places. Pace of play as great as we didnt have to wait on anyone, just hit and go.
Terrible customer service
This was my worst golf now experience yet! When my group and I showed up to the course for a tee time the parking lot was full and looked like a scramble was getting ready to tee off. That was just the case, they were booking tee times in the middle of the scramble. We were told we would still get off by 2 which was our tee time the only thing was we were going to start in the middle of the golf course on hole 15 with the scramble. That was the first problem, then when 2 came around for our tee time they didn't have enough carts for us so we had to wait and once 2:15 came around they still didn't have our carts and they treated us rudely about it telling us the scramble was more important and we didn't matter. We left because of the absurd situation. I do not reccomend anyone too book a tee time here because they just do not know how to run a golf course!
