Great value for the money
Course has greened up nicely, no Bermuda. This course is a challenge, even at 6000 yards. Alway a wind, but makes for an interesting round. The pro shop and concession staff are very friendly.
Nicely manicured, but not much character!
The clubhouse is a converted stable which is fine. The course is converted horse pasture. It is well manicured, but still resembles pasture. You expect to see horses grazing. In fact, they were bailing hay in between holes the day we played. If you like to play courses with little character, this is a course for you. It has very few sand traps and very little water, just tee boxes, fairways and greens.
wide open
the course is nice and wide open, greens were in great shape, fairways were nice and green. will play again
Fairly easy course
Fairly easy course for a woman as there aren't many bunkers and there isn't any water to travel over. The bunkers are filled with sand and the fairways and rough are in good shape.
This course is challenging enough without being ridiculous.
I wish the course conditions section had more options as, although I wouldn't rate it pristine, I would rate it very well maintained. The tee box on hole 16, a par 3, is susceptible to flood in a hard rain. Tee box needs building up and better drainage. A set of steps from the cart path wouldn't hurt. This is the only problem I see with this whole course, and I thoroughly enjoy playing here.
Nice Course
Weissinger is a very nice course at a great value. There are many courses in this are that are more expensive and not as nice. I was very happy with my experience and plan on going back asap!
Great course for average golfers
I play this course several times a year and using Golfnow made it simple and easy to go play
Great layout
I hadn't played this course in over a year. I found it in much better shape and more playable. The greens were excellent. Can't wait to play it again soon.
Great Escape from the Munis in Louisville
For someone that plays a lot of the municipal courses in Louisville, this course is a great getaway for beautiful scenery, cordial golfers and well maintained fairways and greens. The course is pretty straightforward out of the tee box and doesn't play long at all. I was able to keep my driver in the bag for most of the round which is great because, once you hit into the rough, you'll have a very difficult time finding your ball. I would strongly recommend using colored balls if you have a tendency to stray from the fairway. The greens are very well maintained and very challenging. They are very firm and, even with your best approach shot, you can find yourself in a challenging up-and-down situation. The staff was very friendly as well as the other golfers on the course. Unlike the golfers at the munis, they all seem to understand the etiquette of the game. You hear fore, they are more than willing to let you play through or join up and, just in case there may be a group on the course that doesn't understand these things, the course has a ranger ride around to make sure that the pace of play is not exceeding 15 minutes per hole. Thanks to the course and golfnow.com for a great day of golfing.
good condition
greens were in best shape I've ever seen them at Weissinger, and fairways were in good shape too. Rough is super lush, hard to find your ball but that's spring golf for you.
To expensive for type of course.
The roughs were between 8 and 10 inches tall you drop your ball and have a terrible time finding it.
Challenged my game (13 hdcp)
Received by very friendly staff, hit a bucket of balls and teeed off at my tee time. fairways were generous, but who stays ih the fairway? The rough was thick and gobbled the ball making it VERY hard to find. A very entertaining course.
Course was shaggy
Fairways more like 1st cutt rough, tee boxes longer than that. Greens a bit slow. Course was good, just too shaggy.
Great deal
This course seems to always be in great shape and with a good value. This year appears that the course is set up better going into the summer when last year due to heat wave the course got baked. May June July this will be the place to play at a great value. The only thing about the round was that the grass was long on the boxes and fairways
Fun from the gold tee's
Played this course many times and I always enjoy my rounds, good and bad. This course is very popular, and it can be a little busy, so book your tee times early.
This is a great course.
We have played this course for years and it has always
served us well.
In OK shape, nice layout
The course had a nice layout. The fairways were a little long, which I guess is to protect them over the winter. As a result, it was tough to find balls in fairways at times. #16 has a temporary green, but that's not a terrible hindrance. Other players were scarce on this Sunday, so we (twosome) got done in 2:40. It was great.
Worth a trip from Louisville
Played here quite a few times the last couple of years. Usually plays in less than 4 hours but this time, a Saturday in early Nov. and 70 degrees it was crowded. Still played in less than 4 and half hours. Wind is almost always a factor here. Some interesting holes, #10 is a real challenge with the water in play from the tee all the way to the green. Course is always in good shape, tee boxes to greens. However, due to the hot dry summer they lost the par 3 #16 green. Temporary green for now but it looks like they're doing a lot of work on it and may have it ready by spring. Well worth the trip from Louisville to play this course in Shelby county.
Aerorated fairways were a little tough but the greens were great
The fairways were aerorated so it was a little tough but the greens were in good condition
Fun course
Enjoyable golf course to play - but I don't like their policy of "no carts in the parking lot." I think that is asinine and a major pain in the rear end. Everyone I've talked to about this issue also thinks it is absurd and very "player unfriendly." End that nonsense and watch player satisfaction go up instantly.
