Amazing condition
You don't even need to consider how dry the weather has been. This course is in amazing shape. The greens are fast and without weeds or ball marks, there is no reason to improve your lie on the fairways, and the tee boxes are pristine.
COURSE PUNCHED
Why is it that golf courses can't notify potential players, before they book, the conditions of their course. Specifically if the course recently punched and top dressed their greens. Simply put, the greens were unputtable. Very disappointing especially when you book online and there is no warning. I would have never booked. Beware golfers, fall time is green aeration time in KY...really should only be done in early spring before courses open for play. Stay away for 3 weeks unless it rains alot and call ahead. Don't be ripped off like I was. Sorry SCC I won't be back considering you only have 1 chance to make a good impression.
Nice tee boxes and greens
Nice tee boxes and greens. It has been very hot and dry upto Sept 4th. Therfore the fairways could use some water. Friendly staff and other golfers. The course is tight in some areas which makes it challenging for us amateurs. The golf carts seem to be governed down alittle. They should be a couple of mph faster. We enjoyed our round and will be back.
Shelbyville Country Club.
My 2 adult sons and I had a 10:30 tee time. There were 2 foursomes ahead of us and one of them was on the tee. Did not have to wait on them at all. The course is challenging and hard to play a few blind tee shots for any first timers. We have played there 3-4 times the last 3 years. The tees , greens and fairways are great. The long rough will cost you distance. A 5 star experience at a great Golf Now discount. We will go back. Mike Sadler
Very nice course.
The course was in great shape. The fairways had grass (not easy to have because of the drought). The greens were fast and for the most part roller true. The tee boxes were in wonderful shape and the sand traps were well groomed.
Shelby County Gem
Perfect conditions. 80 degrees, sunny, breezy, low humidity. The course could have been in miserable condition in mid to late August, but the greens were pristine. The course was in very good condition overall. Worth the few extra minutes in the car from Louisville to take this in versus a Louisville Metro course!
Great Condition and Pace of Play
Well worth the green fee. Condition was great. Layout was a little confusing, but challenging. Will be back.
Had fun!
Course is in great shape compared to others in the area. Great value for the money!! Just be sure to be good off the tee! If you’re right you’re dead! :)
Well Over Par...in a good way
It's the latter half of August. Many courses in the region are suffering from greens that are sprouting weeds or patches of rot. Club covers off to the course superintendent and the team maintaining Shelbyville Country Club! The greens were in impeccable condition. The fairways are in very good condition. The bunkers are loose and manicured. Dollar for dollar SCC is a great value. Don't overlook this course!
Probably slow as it was Friday afternoon
Lovely afternoon brought out the 4somes, some playing from the wrong tees. But overall a very good time.
Excellent course with a ver friendly staff
The course was in great shape, I suggest busing a gps app as the course requires lots of course management and layups.
Will be back
Greens, tee boxes and fairways were excellent. 3 funky holes that you need significant local knowledge to play successfully (8,9 and maybe 13?) but a very cool track with great staff and good overall layout.

The course was in excellent shape!
Price was good.
Layout not the greatest. Too many tee shots with no way to no where to aim unless you drive ahead before you hit.
Another great day of golf
Beautiful weather helped make this an enjoyable day. Pace of play was great even with a threesome and foursome ahead of me. Greens were soft and well maintained. The fairways and rough were well cut and easily managed. I’ll be back!
agree, there should be mention of aeration when booking. but fall is the best time to aerate, not just early spring. if we want nice greens , we have to deal with aeration a few weeks a year.
