First time playing this course. To begin, the gentlemen in the pro shop is top notch. Friendly, nice and helpful. Nice putting green and small, but effective range. All range balls are included in your round, BTW. They tell you to "scoop" what you need :). The course itself is very walkable. Only 9 and 18 have hills. Most holes are straight and not very long. They make up for this with the Par3's. Most are 170-190. So if you don't have that club, play the whites. It's tight. Lots of trees and narrow fairways. If you are in the rough, you aren't finding your ball more than likely. I felt this was an amazing setup. I am a 6 handicap and this course punished me until I put the driver up. The greens are pure. Roll is true and fair. Not slow, but not lightning fast either. There is a great place to eat after your round. This place packs a punch and I cannot wait to go back. Can't believe I haven't been there before.
Gorgeous course, short & tight.
Best greens I’ve seen in central KY. Tight course compared to many of the other courses I’ve played in the area. Still a wonderful round.
Well maintained grounds & carts.
Friendly Forgiving Course
Enjoyed playing at the Woodford County Country Club. I will definitely be back to play the course in the future. Would recommend this course to someone visiting Lexington or Frankfort. Staff was friendly when I checked in.
Nice Course, need better coordination w/ GolfNow
Played here numerous times and it's always in decent shape. Not to mention, you can hit a small bucket free of charge if you get there early enough. I got a "Hot Deal" along w/ a promo code for a $41 round, which is about 20% of the normal green fee ($55. So it was a deal! However, the course had no record of my GolfNow reserved tee time and I had to present the confirmation mail to staff. Other than that, it was Father's Day so the pace was a little behind. What should have been a 4.5-hour round was about 5. Will definitely play here again though.
Not worth the $$
Nice staff. Easy start. Course is ok but not spectacular for $50 rate. Better courses in the Lexington area much nicer a little less pricey.
Love this course
This is my home course and love it. The wind storm took down a lot of trees which is for the best in my opinion. Bunkers are white and have great sand. Greens are solid and fairways are always dormat in the winter. Rough is patchy which gives the course a great challenge. Staff is always friendly and have made some great friends as a member. The resturant is awesome. The only thing I don't like about the course is the design. Hole 18 the worst. Big tree in the middle of the fairway with about a 20 yard landing spot to keep it on the fairway. The course doesn't reward a good shot if a bad break occurs. Other than that I love this place.
OVERPRICED
Staff is not friendly, very robotic. Check you in, take your money and get you out. We miss Dave! Greens are always good. Takes while for fairways to come in. Range balls badly need replaced. They are made up of other players lost balls. No ranger out here and the pace of play is this courses #1 problem followed by staff friendliness. Know what to expect when you play the Woodford Club.
ALWAYS Good!
