Top 5 Public Course in DMV
I was skeptical w/ course & long commute (coming from Potomac), but man I was blown away w/ the course & more importantly the staff!!
Practice Facility:
- Big Chipping Greens (2 tiers)
- Separate Big Putting Greens (behind ProShop)
- Around 20-30 Hitting Bays/Mats
Course:
- Great Layout
- Above Par Course Maintenance
- Greens (Needs Work, Too Slow, Could be Cut & Rolled More) (Take advantage of Altitude/Weather Conditions in Frederick)
- Difficulty: 7/10 (Not an “Easy” Track)
Clustered Spires
Beautiful golf course, well maintained. Tee boxes were a little hard and not level on some holes. Overall fantastic golf course and a great value.
Favorite weekday course
My personal favorite course to get a quick round in. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff, great course layout, and the price is unbeatable.
First time playing Clustered Spires
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was paired with two nice people, one a member. The greens are challenging with undulation and speed. Shots into the greens rolled out. The layout is all out in front of you, no blind shots. Some greens are huge and there are no postage stamp greens. Fairways are wide and the ball will run. I would like to play it again,

Course is in the greatest shape I have seen in a while.
Fantastic course for the money
Awesome staff! Greens were in good shape and I had an early tee time at 7:30 and it was a very smooth round and finished in just under 4 hours
Love this course
Played early in the am… never waited on any shots… fairways and greens in great shape.
Course is fairly straightforward but don’t sleep on it
# 16 is a 213 yd par 3 from the whites
After a challenging par 5
Don’t miss the fairways and you’ll do ok.
A fun course… enjoyed it!!
Becoming a favorite track!
Really starting to like this course. The greens are coming in after aerating. Always enjoy the layout! The staff has put together an all-around great golf experience!
