Such a solid muni in Frederick
I love a good muni course, and CS is just that. Really good conditions and the pace of play for us was great (sometimes it can be slow). The front nine is pretty straight forward, the back 9 gets more interesting with 13-16 really testing you. Great value and will definitely be back.
Always have a good time at clustered spires. It was in great shape even though the greens were aerated the week before. Pace was a little slow but overall great experience. Definitely recommend and will be back in the future.
Great little course for a municipal
Nice track with a friendly staff. Range balls need a serious cleaning but you can see where your are striking the ball on the club face from all the dirt ha... Greens were rolling fast and that's always a plus for me
Winter Golf
Even under winter conditions, the course was great. Be advised, par 3s have mats as tee boxes between yardage of white/red markers. However, this was okay and good way to maintain tee boxes. I would say, perhaps add a mat between white/blue tee box yardage.
Worth the winter rate ..
Course was very nice. Par 3s have tee mats ... But it did not detract from the round. Good way to preserve through winter. Will be back.
Unfortunate Series of events
Love this course! The staff are friendly. On Saturday, we had an 11:20 tee time, but the course was operating under a long frost delay. Not anyone’s fault. When they told us we may not get out till 1:00 pm, my playing partner had to drop out. I ended up teeing off at 12:30 because some other guys ahead of me also dropped out. There was a group of 28 ahead of us who, for the most part, had no idea which end of the club to use. They were clueless. My threesome left with a 9-hole rain check and the only fault I find with the course was there no marshal around to speed things up. It took 2:50 to play 9. Also, maybe outings should be held back till after 12:00 on weekends?
No notice of 1 hour 20 min frost delay - did not play
Horrible experience. Drove from Gaithersburg to Frederick and checked in at 12:55 for a 1:30 pm tee time and was informed that they had a 1 hour 20 minute frost delay and that I would not be able to tee off until close to 3 pm and thus not make 18 holes. They had my number - could they not have called and given me notice? Will not bother to make a tee time here in the future.
Solid Course
Course is in great shape. Driving range was unfortunately closed today for maintenance, timing a bit odd considering Fridays are busy. Definitely coming back to play again.
