Wish we had known about the Aerating done earlier in the week, other than that we enjoyed it.

The pace of play could have been a little better but otherwise good course for the price.

Course will test your shot skills and patience. Some holes more challenging than others.

I absolutely loved golfing this course. The staff was great..super friendly. The starter gave us all the key tips to the course. He even gave us an info booklets with great hints about how to approach each hole. Most challenging public course by design, yet open enough to not lose too many balls!!

Most certainly returning here.

Everything about this course is great EXCEPT for the pace of play. To me, I would rather play a course that's in worse condition then wait in line on every hole. I've played this course multiple times and each time I've had to wait in line for multiple groups to finish the hole. When it was finally our turn to tee off, there were 3 groups behind us watching.

I would not recommend this to a friend. The staff are overly friendly and the course conditions are above average for the GolfNow rate of $37 but none of that is worth going to this course considering the pace of play.

Course has always had a nice routing and generally is in good shape. The greens today were horrible due to some work being done but the traps were even worse. Greens from front nine to back nine were like 2 different courses and EVERY trap was a different kind of sand/dirt. I hope they get it together and fix the conditions as you get closer to the holes. It's more important than having nice tee boxes.

Nuff said. Fairways above avg, rough a little long. Sand above avg.

Had an enjoyable time playing 18 holes on a beautiful course. The only problem we encountered was some difficultty teeing up on two of the holes as the tees would not push into the ground .

I shot an amazing 75 first time pace was a little slower than normal I did not see one Marshall all day to speed the pace .at the turn I ordered chicken salad sandwich (they are great ) once inside I noticed 10 or more chicken breast on the grill they finally told me they were out I grabbed a blt and a coffee well no coffee either so the girl took my cup and I could see her make me instant yuck after 30 minutes or more I continued my round and shot the best score every !!!

Pace was very slow. Foursome in front of us was all over the place. At one point there were three groups on the par 5 behind us and we were on the box waiting, the foursome in front was less than 100 yards in front of the forward tees. Hole ahead of them was wide open. three groups waiting in addition to us. Marshall never moved them along ended up being a 5+ hour round! not good

I was really surprised by this course, as I have played most of the courses in the area but had not heard of Challedon. The course was in excellent shape and despite a big rain storm the previous evening, drains well so only a few sand traps still had some water. The course rewards good shots on the green and is an excellent value. I will be back with my friends soon.

Nice course. Rolling hills. Not too hard, not too easy. Usually in good condition. Staff is very welcoming, not like most courses, where they act like customers are a burden.

This is my 2nd time here. Nice layout, and great to play a 4-hour round on a Sat morning! Greens coming back from aeration were still okay. Overall course conditions were only fair, especially tee boxes, sand traps, and some fairways. Surprising given the favorable weather year for this area. I'm glad I paid Golfnow fees - I would play again sometime.

First time out and loved it. Course is in great shape, and although it is within a housing development, these are mansions with at least 2 acre plots, so there is never that "fenced in" feel, no need to worry about errant shots hitting little kids. Some blind tee shots, as well as changes in elevation throughout. Great course, definitely will go back!

Only complaint was pace of play for first nine, partly because we were a twosome and partly because foursome in front of us actually was slow. It appeared that they got told to pick up the pace and then one dropped out after nine, so no problem then.

I enjoyed the back nine, but the front nine has a few holes in which you are driving blind and there are no bells or anything to let the next group know you are out of range. The greens and bunkers needed some work.

Starts with par 5 on front and back. Not a lot of trouble to hit over and some nice elevated tee shots. Don't think the course is walkable. Food in clubhouse is decent but I'd suggest ordering before the turn. Nice beer selection, too.

The staff was great the clubhouse was very nice. The ranger was making sure that everyone was keeping pace. It was my fastest round in a long time of a Sat. Morning

We played in the afternoon in gorgeous, low humidity August weather so the day was enjoyable overall. That said, the greens at Challedon need some work. I was told when we checked in that the greens on #1 and #2 had been aerated due to "some problems" and that they were lowering the greens fee by $2 in recognition of this. What we found, however, was that most of the greens were suffering from some sort of blight and had lots of bare spots as well as bumps and holes. In addition, it would appear very few players actually repair their ball marks and that added to the poor green conditions. Bunker conditions were quite variable also with a few showing washouts and others being dug up as part of repair. We'll be playing Challedon again in 3 days in a charity tournament so I guess we'll just have to remember the purpose and live with the conditions.

Overall an ok course. Bunkers and greens are awful but they're working on both. As for the greens, didn't help that some local wingnut decided to go 4-wheeling on a number of the greens.. But that's the least of the ground crew's problems - between 4-wheeler, aeration, and some sort of fungus... Well the greens are in big trouble for late July... Upside, it's better that Rattlewood.
