Maple Run Golf Course

We have not been playing regularly. Therefore this is a great course to play especially its value. Course condition is not bad. It is just not maintained as well but overall it is great value course.

This is not a bad course...not a good course either. It's about average for a course with some good holes and some average holes. But the course has two big problems. First it has greenskeeper-fouling in a major way. Second the "clubhouse" is just lame. weak. Pathetic. It's little more than a dingy trailer on the side of the cart-shack. Yes it has a small kitchenette where you can buy beer and food but that's the only really serviceable part of the "clubhouse". The rest of it I'd just shut down one weekend and fix it up. Even a coat of paint would do wonders for it, but it would still be small and the bathrooms would still be a disgrace. This is two levels below the worst clubhouse that I've ever seen at a golf-course, I know that there are gas-stations out in the boonies that have better bathrooms and "dining areas" than they have here. It's really just pathetic how bad it is but they have these two sweet old ladies working in there and they are very nice.

Golf? Oh otherwise beyond that it's a decent course, nothing I'd drive much out of my way to play but at least it's plenty long enough and challenging enough, up on a mountain prarie with some trees, more on some holes and less on others, fairly tight waste around the greens and fairways but still fairly wide fairways and approachable greens, with some decent verticality and a good mountain breeze on many holes. A few holes back deep in the woods and some holes near a line of houses. Nothing in bad shape, just nothing outstanding, certainly a serviceable, decent round of golf. You're not going to be shorted on the quality of golf here for what they charge. If anything you're just going to want to get in, play your round and get out. This is not a place to spend time before or after your round.

Let me get this out of the way first: this is not a premier top dollar course. Having said that, it was a pleasant surprise. Green's fees were inexpensive, people friendly, and on the course, a nice mixture of challenging holes that were fun to play.

There were a wide variety of holes, and there were a few special ones either from difficulty or for beauty. The greens putted true, and what I really liked is that what apparently were several sand bunkers had been turned into grass bunkers. That makes course maintenance and playability go up a notch.

I'd definitely play the course again!

Played for $10, expected a small community course with majority par 3s, but I was so wrong. This course has some length, my driver was in play all day. The course is surrounded by great scenery amongst the forest and creeks. The greens are small and fast, so short game was challenged. Definitely going to play there again.

The course is sorely overdue for some maintenance especially in the middle of the course. The fairways were in rough shape. But a budget course to play on...

The fairways are solid, green and lush. The greens are in the best condition I have seen in years. This is a locals course that I play several times a year. Nothing fancy, value golf at its best.

Had a great time as always on this course. Everyone is friendly and very laid back nobody puts any kind of pressure on the golfers. The course is well kept and pace of play has never been a problem for me. I recommend this course and will go back a few more times this year

Greens were very slow. Greens are super small and undulating. Needs better drainage system. Staff is very nice. Relaxed atmospheric.

Dollar for dollar this course can't be beat. Can some holes be improved? Yes, (especially on the back 9) but the value is unparalleled. Extremely fun and cheap. Will play again

Maple Run is a homespun local course. If you need "country club for a day" - this isn't your place. But what it offers is fantastic value - the course is usually in decent shape, the greens can be quite tricky (particularly on the front nine), the scenery is great and the pace of play is usually very good. They offer some amazing deals. The guys in the clubhouse have always been friendly, and I've been coming here for 10 years but am not a "local".

I play here a lot! Here are some of the improvements. This course had the worse carts, not anymore. The sand traps were none existence, but now have some on several holes and adding more. It's hard to add more with all of the rain, but again they have a few more to do. The owner Jeff is such a great guy, and very easy to talk to very low key. I really don't buy food or drinks but the prices are reasonable. The pace of plveris very good every time I come. Weekday or Weekend you should be able to play around under 4 if not 3 1/2 hours. Fun course to play that has a nice layout of holes with a variety of challenges for the average golfer. The carts are old and run rough, had to keep priming it each time the gas pedal was hit. Most of the bunkers need sand as you cannot play out of them. Overall for the price it's a good value and enjoyable course.

No upkeep of the course! Tee boxes are a joke. Greens are divot littered. Bunkers are overgrown weed sanctuaries. Fairways and roughs have no distinct separation. Did I mention the weeds!! Just everywhere! And they are white weeds, so your white golf balls can hide in plain site!!
Holes 11-15 don't even have signage. They have a sign at the "clubhouse" about proper attire, what a joke. The carts need maintenance and to be hosed down. Not even worth $22. This should be a $10 course. This course has potential to be a great course but as of now, it is a waste of space. GolfNow should not even allow this course to utilize its service.

The weather was fantastic, the holes were scenic. Very nice conditions for a community course. Would play again.

First 9 holes were fine, then caught up with slow riding foursome on 10 that was behind real slow walking foursome. Waited 15 minutes to play 14 and decided to end our round and leave. First time I have ever quit in the middle of a round. (interesting note: group ahead of us on front nine was smart and played front twice, should have followed them:( Mowers were very courteous and stopped while we hit. Starter was professional and check in was good.
