Acushnet River Valley Golf Course

Nice course...wish there was food and drinks available the day we played. Tent was there with a grill etc but no one was cooking and no drinks were being sold.

I have always loved this course and its great variety of holes and course conditions. While the greens were much slower than usual, I will chalk that up to the hot, dry summer we have had and maybe they are afraid to cut them too low. However, the starter (and ranger, I'm told) is a very unpleasant old man. All he does is sit on the 1st tee and collect receipts and bark at people. He does NOT act as a ranger and go out on the course to monitor play. If he did, he would have seen us wait on EVERY shot of our 5-hour round. I will only play ARV again if I can snag an early am tee time because I am all about playing a 4-hour round or less. This course is NOT committed to pace of play despite being a terrific golf course.

love playing ARV. Always have. fun front 9, i struggle on the back. But 5+ hours is unacceptable. i talked to a ranger after the round and he understood and he could not have been nicer. he knows it is an issue but there is only so much he can do. other than pace of play i would give ARV a solid A rating in all other categories

Started with tee time running 30 minutes late. Outside concession had no coke and was closed by 3:30 on a very hot day ! No ice available for bags of drinks to take on course. no drinking water on course at all and no beverage cart. Played with seniors who decided to quit early because of dehydration. Very disappointed.

Course layout was great. Greens were in great condition, challenging locations and elevations. Fairways were in great shape a few blind shots off the tee. Normal width but the elevations iand fairway bunkers make it a challenge to hold the fairway. About five holes in the back nine are a links style but they are very playable. Overall this is a must play for any golfer. .

Ok course conditions with a surprisingly inconsiderate staff. Frankly the staff was so consistently rude and unaccommodating that we will never be back. Just not worth it. Curt and unhelpful, we were often greeted with an annoyed tone for asking a question about new policies. We were not allowed to add a friend in to our group despite booking him immediately after us and calling multiple times the week before with no answer. There was also no attempt at the desk to find a solution so our friend went home instead. Pace was slow all day and a serious back up had developed by the end of 18. No cart girls, no water on the course and a long slow line to get one at the same window they use for check ins. Once finished with our round, our cart was demanded from us before we could even drive back to our car and drop off our bags. They leave a lot to be desired for such a steep price. Disappointed would be an understatement. Spend your time and money elsewhere.

I booked a tee time online for 12:18 and we did not tee off until 1 PM. We waited 45 minutes for a cart. The pace of play was so slow and it took almost 3 hours for us to play 9 holes. We paid for 18 but multiple groups cut in front of us on the back 9 so we left. The course is really beautiful but I wish that pace of play was enforced more strictly so that it wouldn’t take so long.

This is actually the third time I’ve played here this year. I keep going back because it’s an enjoyable course with a mixed layout. The first eleven are your normal tree lined course and 12-16 are a nice wide open links course. There’s always a nice breeze so it’s not as hot as other courses during these humid summer days. I highly recommend this course!!

Very beautiful and in excellent condition. The greens were a little slow but they were in excellent shape. After hole number 10 you will be surprised with a total new style of course and very windy. I will definitely return.

Had a 10:20 tee time on Sunday 8/2/20. We got to the first tee at 1019 with 3 groups backed up waiting to tee off. Ended up teeing off at about 1045 (25 min late). We played 6 holes in about an hour and 45 minutes bringing us to 12:30. We were denied a rain check or refund when we politely asked. Ranger doesn’t do his job, and is more focused on people parking in the wrong spots in the parking lot and telling players to not drive carts past the cart signs. front desk manager not polite or understanding, course crams in tee times to try to make a buck without any consideration of pace. All in all 1/10 experience.

Pro shoo can’t be bothered asked for a tee time for 4 told me they didn’t have anything available and hung up. Awfully unprofessional.
