Course in great shape
Brookside was the best course I have played this summer. Pace of play was a little slow but I see myself going back again soon.
With the drought this summer, lack of rain and warm conditions, the course is in great condition. Give a great job to your course supervisor and his staff.
Beautiful Course
Very hot humid day so the course was not crowded. Love the layout. Course was in great condition
BS Cart Fees
Criminal what they’re charging for a cart fee.
This course isn’t walkable and now the cart fee is 50% of the green fee... highest in the area by far
Absolutely my favorite
I have to admit that I don’t often provide an across the board top rating to any enterprise but Brookside is definitely deserving of praise. From checking to departure everything was superb...the people, the course the maintenance and the cost. I love this place and wish it were closer to my home but it is worth the one-hour drive to enjoy.
Best Greens on the South Shore
I keep coming back to The Brookside Club because they have the best greens of any public course on the South Shore. To me the green condition is the most important aspect of a great course.
Awful Pace
Three hours to play nine holes on a weekday afternoon as a walking single. First time in 30 years I've ever walked off in the middle of a round. (Which, thanks to the layout not looping back to the clubhouse, necessitated a 15-minute jaunt on Route 28 to get back to my car.)
It's in great shape. Scenic, hilly, and challenging. The almost complete lack of directional signage, however, is absurd. As a walker playing there for the first time, multiple times, I wasn't sure I was on the right hole or where I was going. What modern course doesn't even have all the hole numbers marked on the tees?
A shame. Was really looking forward to playing here, but with all the great courses in the area at equal or better prices, I won't be back.
Awful Pace
After it took three hours to play the front nine as a single in the middle of a weekday, I walked off. (Which, thanks to the layout, necessitated a 15-minute hike along Route 28 to get back to the clubhouse.) Absolutely absurd.
Place is in great shape. Challenging. Scenic. Hilly, but not overly so. Essentially no signage directing you, however. Absurd that tee boxes can't all be marked with what hole they're for, especially in a layout that winds through homes and other holes. As a first timer, frequently was unsure where I was going.
With all the wonderful courses in the area, I won't be back. Cape Cod Country Club puts this place to shame at three-quarters the price.
Challenging
Course fantastic shape , grounds people’s very nice stop working when your making a shot, Awsome
