Agawam Municipal Golf Course has been a favorite among local golfers since first opening in 1944. It has a traditional layout that offers a few challenges but it's still player friendly enough for golfers of any skill levels. The holes are fairly straightforward but the gently rolling hills provide some subtly tricky elevation changes. There isn't any water on the golf course but there are mature trees lining the fairways. While it may not be what you're looking for if you're an avid golfer who wants a truly formidable test, Agawam Municipal Golf Course is not to be under-estimated. The greens can be tricky to pitch to and accuracy will take you far. This municipal course is a great spot for a quick and casual round that's also affordable.

Greens are in good shape for early season
Despite being aerated and sanded the greens were in decent shape and the fairways were solid. Always enjoy playing here!

Greens were aerated and no warnings about this were given. To make matters worse, conditions were wet and the greens were overdressed with way too much sand. Putting was impossible! I spent most of the round cleaning grips and club heads. They should have waited to open.

Rough Shape
The course was super dry in some areas and super wet in others. The tee boxes were beat and mostly dirt. The greens are like your playing mini golf. Good luck keeping your ball on the green. The pace of play was horrible. We waited on every hole and when we could just did some practice putting while waiting for the group to tee off. I will never play this course ever again!!

Crowded and backed up to the point of unplayable
Incompetent starter, coupled with tee times too close together, combined with too many older players made us bail on this course after four holes, which had taken over an hour and a half. 90 minutes into our round, there were up to five groups backed up on a single hole at one time. Somebody who knows how to handle this needed to take charge and the club house crew was useless.
