guest play
i was matched with Ed from Auburn. Game moved right along and Ed proved to be an interesting person.
Don't be afraid to sign up as a single player because you can always get matched up with others to play with.
golf carts
the only draw back was i had to wait for and hour after my tee time to get a cart. i was told they had a bunch of carts not working and they were not going to fix them because they have new ones coming in September. not good planning! course was great.
Nice Round.
The place was packed which my Buddy and I do not like, and we got paired with another two-some which we also generally do not like. But, the course was in decent shape expect for a few fresh tree falls from the storm the day before....the greens and tee boxes were fine. Simple layout but challenging due to narrow fairways and greens with huge ripples, some nearing miniature golf style! All in all if was a very fun day, our mates were a good match, the beer girl was attentive and friendly, and overall this long course was in very good shape and a good deal.
good value
the course was good. the greens were bumpy, making putting inconsistent. I was not expecting much but was happy with the course. We played from the blues which was pretty long but wide open for the most part. Give it a try,
Great course
Good conditions. Pace of play for our foursome was 3+30. And we waited several holes a short bit. Great day of economical golf on a very nice course.
Great condition
it hadn't rained in almost 2 months yet the course was in great condition. One big negative is we had a 1054 tee time w cart and didn't get on the tee until 1135 because they had no carts available.. they didn't seem to care.
Nice course overall
This course is a great test given it’s length. A lot of doglegs to the right. Course is located in a nice peaceful area with a decent practice driving range. The only weaknesses of this course is the course may be too long for some golfers. Worth playing given it’s value
Westover
Course was in great shape for this time of year. Pro was very accommodating sending us of the back to get the round in before dark.
Fantastic Fall Golf
Greens were perfect. Some leaves but not too bad. Pace of play was good because of the weather; mid 40s. So not much play. Gas carts are adequate. Course conditions were good. Overall great value.
Enjoyable fall round
Westover is one of the great value courses in Western Mass., with better than average public course conditions and a challenging layout. At 5450 yards from the Front Tees, it presents a good challenge with enough doglegs, sand traps, and distance to challenge all levels of ability. The only negative is the leaf litter that often lines the sides of the fairways, making it difficult to find a stray drive. The greens keep and crew do a nice job of keeping the greens in nice shape, with average put speeds. The courses bar and restaurant do a nice job of supplying pub food and a good selection of draft beers. The gripe I have is the carts are getting old and could use a better cleaning, especially the windshields. Minor issues to be sure, so if you have never played Westover GC, try it before the snow flies. You WILL ENJOY THE COURSE!
