Charged for cancellation
One of my foursome could not attend. Three showed up and paid. The course, however, charged me for 3 people. I understand being charged for the one person. Charging me for three tee times - ostensibly being charged for six people - seems excessive. Furthermore, the course had a single, walk-on, golfer join my group.
I am sorry that the course felt that one person not showing up for a tee time permitted it to charge so excessively.
Unlikely to book a tee time again at a course I’ve played many times.
It's a Big Challenging Course
We had a very pleasant day at Waverly Woods. There's plenty of parking, and the check-in process was smooth with friendly staff. My partner rented clubs of good quality that were a bit soiled. The course has bent-grass fairways and fescue rough. I was able to putt from the fescue a few times, but no more than 18 inches off the green. The course is nicely spread out and some fairways have significant slope and some have forced carries to the large undulating greens. The greens are fast and true, and I was more successful on and near the greens than in reaching the greens.
Spectacular Conditions
Just played Waverly and it was in tremendous shape. The course was also sold out and we didn’t wait at all. The staff was great and the food and drink great. $100 is a little pricey but worth it. Highly recommend.
Hole in 1!!
Great day for golf, helped by a hole in 1 on #5!! Please leave the course in better shape than you found it, fix divots, ball marks, rake sand traps, and throw your trash away - thank you!
Fun to play!
Fast green, #9 hole located next I70, so the highway traffic is kind noisy. Lots of blind shots! You need to know where to aim. Choose the right clubs for all the par 3 holes am the approach shots because the elevation changes. A lots of memorable holes! I like hole7,13,6,17.
WAVERLY OR TIMBERS?
Wow what a difference...did Timbers maintenance staff walk out or something?? Waverly was in perfect condition, much better value for the money!!
Great Course - Please for the love of golf fix your divots and ball marks
Waverly is a great trek, and in great shape - it could be even better if golfers did their due diligence on the greens and fairways
Good Course
Course was in good condition, greens had just been aerated however. Usually a $100 tee time, but was cut down to $75 which was appreciated, but still with aeration don't know if that was worth the cost. If it were around $60 with the aeration that would be much more worth it, but overall staff was friendly and the rest of the course was in good shape.
Great course if you get a deal
My favorite course in Maryland. Layout is tough but enjoyable. Some fun dog legs, tough par 5s, and super friendly staff. Highly recommend
No Heads Up on Closed Holes
A little bummed to get there and find out two of the holes are closed for some snow on them when other holes also had snow. No forward communication about the hole closure on golf now and seemly no discounted rate for it.
Like the course and the staff, just disappointed in the lack of communication and direct as to how we should handle the closure. If we tried to play 1 and 18 again we’d have run into people
