Below average
I dont know how there are so many high reviews when there are so many complaints made regarding the staff, pricing, and facilities. With that said, Waverly is a below average track from an architectural standpoint. The course conditioning is fair, but not what it should be considering the pricing that is charged. Additionally, I went to get a small bucket for the range after my round to fix some things at 7:34pm. I was told they stop selling range balls at 7:30pm. It’s a vary bizarre experience and I’m curious to see if this post stays up because of its negative review.

Buyer Beware
Booked tee time online two days before round ... arrived at course and was not only told that they were not honoring the online price, but that they had moved my tee time to a later time (both without notifying me in advance) Luckily, I had printed out my receipt from online and they finally relented and gave me that price. I then asked if they had filled my original tee time, to which they said no. They finally gave in and gave me back my original time.
Course okay if you like hitting balls above or below your feet on every shot
I think I had maybe 5 shots all day that my feet were even with the ball. Too much money for this place. Won’t be back
Overall Good
I caught a deal as a single through Golf Now... $59 at 6:45am. Even better, w/ the rain delay, the guy at the clubhouse let me go out solo on back and they fit me in when I made the turn on one. Well managed facility. Good Round. Course in good shape. The guy cutting the cups even has a divot repair tool for the boneheads that don't repair their ballmarks.
Great Course Pace of Play Over the Top
This course was beautiful and quite tricky. The greens were excellent and some of the hardest I’ve played. My biggest gripe was how strict the pace of play was. I hate waiting on the tee box, but no one was waiting behind us, and they asked us to skip a hole because there was a 1.5-hole gap in front of us. We rushed through our hole and played on. The group behind us never waited on us. If we had been overly slow and holding up play I would understand, but we weren’t.
Beautiful golf experience
The course is great.in good shape all around. The staff are the absolute best. Very friendly and always trying to make your experience better. You can walk in and ask to play and they’ll figure out a way to get you on the course. Even when you’re hitting balls on the range the Marshalls would say hello on your way there. I’ve now made it my home course.
The pro shop bar is amazing too. Don’t waste your time on other courses. !!!!!!!!!!!!
KemperSports for the WIN
I’ve been playing Waverly for a long time, multiple times throughout the year. The condition of the greens and certain spots of the fairways has got to be by far the worst I have ever seen at Waverly, let alone anywhere in else Howard County now. Dry dead spots and fungus on all of the greens, longer than usual grass all around. Felt like I was at Willow Springs looking for tee shots. Increased green fees, with decreased conditions… seems like the norm for Kemper. Guess I’ll keep playing
