Waverly Woods Golf Course

I caught a deal as a single through Golf Now... $59 at 6:45am. Even better, w/ the rain delay, the guy at the clubhouse let me go out solo on back and they fit me in when I made the turn on one. Well managed facility. Good Round. Course in good shape. The guy cutting the cups even has a divot repair tool for the boneheads that don't repair their ballmarks.

This course was beautiful and quite tricky. The greens were excellent and some of the hardest I’ve played. My biggest gripe was how strict the pace of play was. I hate waiting on the tee box, but no one was waiting behind us, and they asked us to skip a hole because there was a 1.5-hole gap in front of us. We rushed through our hole and played on. The group behind us never waited on us. If we had been overly slow and holding up play I would understand, but we weren’t.

The course is great.in good shape all around. The staff are the absolute best. Very friendly and always trying to make your experience better. You can walk in and ask to play and they’ll figure out a way to get you on the course. Even when you’re hitting balls on the range the Marshalls would say hello on your way there. I’ve now made it my home course.

The pro shop bar is amazing too. Don’t waste your time on other courses. !!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve been playing Waverly for a long time, multiple times throughout the year. The condition of the greens and certain spots of the fairways has got to be by far the worst I have ever seen at Waverly, let alone anywhere in else Howard County now. Dry dead spots and fungus on all of the greens, longer than usual grass all around. Felt like I was at Willow Springs looking for tee shots. Increased green fees, with decreased conditions… seems like the norm for Kemper. Guess I’ll keep playing

Course is great, nice layout. Good pace of play (I played on a weekday). Warm up bucket and cart included in the green fee is a nice touch.

The staff are great.

Sorry but this wasn’t worth anything close to $114. The greens were in poor condition. The clubhouse and course were understaffed. Etc. For this amount of money, the course needs to deliver a premium experience. It fell far short. Hopefully they will improve.

Generally good condition. Played early so finished quickly. Having said that, caught up to two players. Staff member was talking to them on the tee. No possible way they didn’t see me as a single. Neither they nor staff waived me through. Ended up having to skip a hole several holes later. Not a knock on the course, but come on people!!

This course will go down as top 10 for sure! Everything was just about perfect from start to finish. The staff were more than welcoming and the course conditions were fantastic. I paid $114 for my round on the weekend, but it was worth it and I’ll pay that again if it means I get quality golf. If I had to pick a negative, it would be the ranger coming to us while there was not a team in sight (in front or back of us) and explain that there is a “back-up” a few holes back. He went on to say he’s not sure what’s causing the back up but for us to “keep that in mind”. I don’t know about you, but no golfer wants to hear that, especially when you’re playing well. That’s a problem and not just on this course, but most. Clearly, we weren’t causing a back-up, again we had nobody in sight. We can do without the comments, especially when it doesn’t apply to us.
