At Wyckoff, some of the views atop tees or hillsides can be exhilarating–as at the par 5, 531-yard third. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2025

The fifth may be the toughest short par-4 on the course, rising from its fairway to this well-guarded green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2025

14th, par-4, 393: Designed by Donald Ross as part of WCC’s original 18, it’s hard to imagine anyone not being impressed by a hole this good. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2025

The fifteenth, a par-4 of 365, is a target hole of modern design. It virtually forces players to lay up prior to the marsh, yet it can be played as a risk-reward hole. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2025

18th, par-3, 229: The course closes strongly with a distinctive par-3: its raised, wedge-shaped green is pinched in front by two sizable bunkers. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2025

Difficult course, compared to others in the area.
Course is definitely for those with a more experienced approach. Only golfing semi serious for the last year or two, it took me for a ride. Great place though.
Pace of play
There was a group od 6 people jump on hole 10 infornt of my group of 4. There wasn't anyone watching or maintaining the pace of play. There should never allow that large of a group to play together.
Firm & fast small greens
Course in good shape for recent rain recieved, keep your shots tight, distance control, shot making paramount, great mountain side layout, still many touches of original Donald Ross layout
New Owner
I hope the new owner continues to upgrade the. course. Cart paths have started to be repaired ( a lot of potholes). Some challenging holes. Overall, it needs some work.
This course has great features
This course has great features. Traps and tee boxes need some attention. Overall a good experience
Course control
We had a group of 6 golfers that jump on hole 10 in front of my group. The pro shop should have NOT allowed that. Course management is bad. This shouldn't happen.
Downhill Slide
The playing conditions have deteriorated over the past years. Greens were in rough shape,T-Box ‘s with no grass, and sand traps full of rocks. I enjoy the layout and the views, and they are making improvements to cart paths, which will go unused if they don’t take care of the course itself.
Good Value–But Some Conditioning Flaws
Course Strengths:
–-A challenging front side, followed by a rigorous inward half. The latter includes tight and meddlesome shorter holes along with three burly par-4s. The sixteenth, a Donald Ross original, is an incredibly tough and long uphill par-3. It features a small and steep green, tilted back to front.
–Unpredictable ground movement: the course moves up and down almost ceaselessly; it features mounds, knolls, side slopes, hillocks, depressions (etc.) everywhere.
–Greens are commonly perched on knolls or small hills, which increases both challenge and interest (see holes 1, 2, 6, 7, 10, 11, 14, 16 and 17).
–The seventh: A beautiful but tricky postage stamp hole playing straight downhill. The green is a reasonable target yet not overly generous.
–Four or five greens that will make you work just to two-putt them, whether above or below the hole.
–Two consistently solid, if not spectacular par-5s. Of the two, perhaps the sneaky-good third hole exemplifies this better.
Most Interesting Hole: 12th, par-4, 390.
Featuring an old-school, open fairway and an expansive feel overall, this hole allows for strategic tee-to-green play. The fairway rolls beautifully downhill into a valley that precedes a canted green, guarded on the right by a large and deep bunker.
Best Hole: 14th, par-4, 393.
As classic as any four-par I’ve played in New England, this dogleg-right starts with a tee shot that is best hit to the left side, thus opening up the green. The green itself is titled and set upon a hill with trouble all around.
Conditioning:
Mixed, but overall fair. Back in 2021/22, Wyckoff was lush, well-groomed almost everywhere, and consistent. Today inconsistency–especially of the bunkers and fairway roughs–was the rule. While some bunkers were decent, many were basically unplayable (insufficient sand, washed out,or even weedy). Greens, however, ran smooth and ran fast; greenside areas inconsistent with areas of patchiness near the fringes. Tee boxes were poor and fairways mostly average. Inconsistency makes for dicey play, of course; I didn’t feel I could post an accurate score here. When well-kept, this has been an excellent course, but today I felt as if I mainly were practicing my game.
The Setting:
Possibly the best site for golf in the Pioneer Valley. The photos underscore how picturesque these holes can be. Views can extend many miles away (into the Mount Holyoke Range, I believe, to the north), but most prominent are those of the 1,200 foot Mt. Tom, which emerges from behind tall trees into view on the first green, then later at the eleventh. Holes like number ten offer a different feel: look back from the 11th tee area and enjoy the rolling countryside view of the clubhouse and backdrop.
Some Conclusions:
The staff here was friendly and helpful–very accommodating!
A few years ago, Wyckoff was an excellent venue–and greatly underrated; today, unfortunately, the conditioning lapses in the roughs, bunkers, and elsewhere contributed to how it played. On-course amenities (like ball-washers) and cart paths also need maintenance or repair. Still, I enjoyed WCC for its aforementioned strengths. Some will consider this a decent or good value in several respects; I didn’t find playing here wasted time at all–in fact, I enjoyed the day.

Nice course layout ,working on rebuild
First round here in years. Great layout! Hilly course w tight fairways, as it’s on the side of Mount Tom. New owner proceeding with course refurbishing. Our Monday round. ifollowed a Saturday torrential rainfall which highlights the work to be done. Lots of erosion on cart paths and drainage in several sand traps.. They’ve got their work cut out for them, but there’s heavy equipment on site it should prove to be a diamond in the rough if they stay on it.
Clubhouse bar restaurantand outside deck really nice!
Pro shop staff very accommodating and friendly. When we let him know we hadn’t played in years. He actually took us out to our cart and pointed out the 18 hole layout.
Locally Westover, Agawam, Tekoa, better shape.
This course more challenging. and better than East Mt. Will definitely come back and see how they’re doing later in the year!
Memorial Day golf
Went for a round in Memorial Day. They have done a lot of nice work here. The cart girl was very nice and friendly. Bar staff- not so much. Very rude bartender. Not sure if it was just a bad day or what. Anyways, doing great things here and I look forward to see all the other changes made!
Good course
Fun layout. Greens are true and quick from above the hole, but very fair. Nice challenge, good value for the money. Be careful driving golf carts on the paths, but otherwise a very fun place to play and is a fast round. Underrated course.
Wyckoff Review
Course is ok. Kept up. Cart paths are in need of a major overhaul. Tee boxes could use a little attention but for what I paid It was a value for the $$. 2 golfers for about $30 a piece with a cart for 18 holes……..cheapest deal around.
Club house has no supplies- but does look like they are redoing it maybe.
It was nice to have a cart employee out there selling snacks.
Not the courses fault but there was a good amount of trash which is sad golfers just throw beer cans right on the edge of the course. Pace of play was rough. We teed off 20 min late as there were still 3 groups to tee off at my actual time.
Would I go back? Maybe if the price is cheap.
