Great value
Only 9 holes, but really well put together, and the price is very reasonable! We play really early and the pace has been great
Maynard Golf Course Opening
For the first round of golf this season in New England, we found Maynard Golf Course in great shape. The course is fun to play, has a couple challenges, is a great value.
Crowded and poorly maintained
Was excited to golf here after reading reviews. Unfortunately my experience didn't match. To start with the pros - the staff were wonderful and for $25 greens fees (+$10 cart) it was reasonably priced. But the greens were in ABYSMAL shape -large patches of bare dirt on many greens. How are you supposed to putt? Also, the holes were absolutely on top of each other. At one point, I think the 5th hole maybe, I had an approach shot onto a green with 2 tee boxes and another green all within a 20 yard radius. Hard to think about being aggressive and going for green when a slight mishit will mean certain death for another golfer! I can understand in an urban course having to put the holes on top of each other. But in Maynard? Come on. Even Newton and Fresh Pond aren't THAT bad!
blind holes are par for the course
disclaimer: i ignored the aeration alert and went anyway. i could putt on two holes. i could chip to a flag on 3 others. ever play shoe golf where you pick a tree trunk to hit to by flinging your shoe? besides all that the course is laid out oddly. lots of walking over tee boxes to other holes. lots of blind shots. great guys running the place. kind of a fun and simple place. not sure it’s worth the effort with better courses for a bit moe money though.
Maynard course
A very good 9 hole course. Some challenging holes and the conditions are excellent.
Nice 9-hole course
Course is always in great shape and there is a nice variety of elevation changes. Only one par 5 so not overly long but always enjoy playing here at least annually. Great restaurant/bar on-site as well.
Always Fun
I always enjoy playing at Maynard GC. I lived in Maynard for a good number of years and it was almost always easy to squeeze in nine holes, usually with one of my kids. Pace of play is usually never a problem, and the cleaning out of the right side of the fairway on 18 was huge! Players and staff are always very friendly and courteous. You get more for your money playing Maynard!
Must Play
After playing Chelmsford, the staff told me about Maynard right down the street, so I played it and it is incredible for a nine hole golf course. Tough and fun par 3's, lush fairways, great greens and had 6 very challenging golf holes
Great value
This course has greatly improved from last year. The fairway is pretty good and the greens aren't too bad either. The head pro there (Jim Callahan) is great friendly guy, I recommend for a practice round

I'm new to golf but I'm having a lot of fun. As i'm new to this I can't really comment on the course but I can comment on the club house. the food is not good. I got an quesadilla which is usually made with a corn tortilla, but it came in what looked like either a whet or over cooked toriilla there was barely any cheese in it. The bartender is struggling to make a drink with 2 ingredients. when I ordered, I put a $10 on the bar and told the bartender it was for the Quesadilla. when I was served, my plate came with a bill. I brought the empty plate back tot he bar and said I had left a $10 on the bar for the appt. The bartender said she thought it was a tip, Are you kidding me? I think this is her 1st bartending gig.
