One of the coolest courses I have ever played
It really is “the hills” of Lenawee!!
1) Incredible rolling terrain
2) Immaculately manicured- Clean and taken care of - like not even a broken tee in any tee boxes - no garbage anywhere
3) Worth the drive from the city
Can’t say enough about it… I caught a hot deal tee time on a weekday morning - solo - one group let me play through and no one was in front of them. It was FANTASTIC
5 stars!!
Would play here every week if it was closer to home
Great course
Course is good butt Rochelle and Birdies Restaurant makes the location great!!!
Adrian, MI area
Best course I’ve ever played in the area, if certainly be referred to as Country Club quality. Hot deal was great, and I’ll certainly be returning every year. RD
Great Track
This course is in great condition and the staff is extremely kind. I love small greens as long as they are true. I saw maybe 1 pitch mark in 18 holes, you can tell the regulars take pride in their course. Best bang for the dollar all year. We play a different course within 100 miles of Ann Arbor every week. -Thank you
A complicated review
There's a lot to like about this course, let me start off by saying that. The course itself is in great condition. unlike most courses in Southeast Michigan, there is actual elevation changes on this course, which was a welcome change from the norm around here. The course is tight trees lining everywhere. It's beautiful. You can absolutely see why this used to be a private country club.
Now all that being said, there are some major downfalls the first being pace of play. Unfortunately, I cannot review the back nine because it took almost 3 hours to play the front nine. No Marshalls anywhere to be found, and the group in front of us was absolutely disinclined to let us play through and we could not see the people in front of them even though they claimed they were waiting on others. But that being said, I saw similar instances of multiple groups backed up on tee boxes as I drove around. That is the downside of this formerly being a private club, and now a public course this course was made for a limited field that a private membership would have brought to it.
Secondly, there are zero amenities in the pro shop. There were a couple cans of Coca-Cola and a couple cans of Sprite and that's it no water or no Gatorade could be purchased. There is a small putting green and I did not see the driving range even though they do advertise, there is one there. I did see a sign that said no drivers on the driving range so it's likely a very tiny one.
My recommendation is if you can find a deal on this to play during the week you will probably have a great time because I'm guessing pace of play is not an issue I would think twice about coming here on the weekends though.
Can’t believe it’s public
This is a great course! I think it’s a hidden gem in SE Michigan. It’s got old school charm. Wide fairways and small protected greens. Fairways and greens were fantastic. Greens are quick and have undulations. From the back tees the par threes are tough. Highly recommend playing this course! The staff were great and very friendly. Will be back very soon.
Great Track
The course & Staff were extremely nice, especially Ron in the Pro Shop. Unfortunately, no hamburgers were available at the turn; otherwise, it was a great time as always.
Hills of Lenawee
Excellent golf course was in great condition. Very beautiful course.
Best course in Lenawee County
The course is beautiful. It is an old course that has so much character. Fairways and greens are in great shape.
The course is somewhat difficult however it’s fair you have to hit good shots . The pace of play is very good! The people in pro shop were very friendly and professional!
