Great layout, greens consistently slow unfortunately
This is one of the prettiest golf courses in northwest Ohio, southeast Michigan, fairways and rough are kept well, the membership must want slower greens, which is unfortunate. A few ticks up on the stimp meter and this place would be 5 stars. Definitely worth the trip from Toledo!
Impressed
Old school charm. Super small greens. Intriguing design. Tight but playable. Very fun enjoyable round.
Expect a challenge and great conditions
Quite a bit of elevation changes on this course. Fairways were so soft that bounce and roll does not exist, so plan on the course playing longer than the listed yardage. Many greens have severe slopes. Do not get on the high side or you will pay dearly. Staff was very friendly. We never once had to wait to play. Can't beat it for the conditions, value and challenge.
Well maintained
Enjoyed the outing at Hills. Course knowledge is important to score well. Greens were in great shape. Our only misgiving...our Garmin GPS watches did not reflect the course layout correctly, even though the software was up to date. Holes 1 - 9 were displayed as 10 - 18 on our watches, while holes 10 - 18 were a hot mess on GPS. This made our first time on the course a bit of an adventure. Was told that other GPS systems may provide better guidance. The addition of GPS installed on the carts would solve the problem.
All round Excellent
Arrived at he course and was greeted with a smile and asked if we wanted to bring forward our tee time. W accepted and were able to play the course in less than 4 hours .....2 ppl on a saturday morning!!. Course was pleasantly layed out with great conditions. a few blind holes but nothing too ad. After the round, drinks and burger at the very nice club house. Highly recommend and hope to return again soon!!!
