Challenging Greens
This is a very nice course. It's only $6 for a bucket of balls for the grass range. The greens are in good condition, and are definitely the most challenging part of the course. Hard and fast. You can get away with spraying the ball off the tee on most holes, but it'll be tough to get it close from the rough on those hard greens. It's not terribly hilly either, so walking is doable.
Fun and open
Fun course, open and reasonable condition. I say reasonable as the tee boxes were a bit of a mess - but had a blast.
Good Value but needs some TLC
Good Value for $$$...Greens are in great shape but pin placement is tough...Tee boxes need watering and a lot of TLC / work…Fairways are ok but someone should be out there spraying for weeds and repairing divots...Ranger visibility is nonexistent and needs attention to keep play moving
They are obviously are trying hard but the course was in better shape last year and needs closer attention
We will return in the fall when things slow down and Mother Nature can help the Greens staff

Fast green with tough pin location
Overall course condition was excellent except the pace of the play seemed slower than average. Most the pin locations were unfairly placed with less than 10 feet from the edge of the green. It is very difficult for low handicap golfers to get close to the holes. Good shot became average at best.
Just needs a little TLC
1. Golf shop and starter were both very professional, as I arrived 10 minutes before my tee time(golf now app last minute) I was a single and they grouped me with 3 other guys using the app. Starter gave me a course yardage book and told us about local rules, and a few troubled spots
2. The course itself is not to difficult, par 3 are stock, 4's offer the most challenge with several long 4's over water that require a good draw and play 440 from back tees. Par 5s are staightaways and require a little course knowledge off the tee. The course is also tree lined on most holes, so a solid tee ball is required or else jail!
Fairways were the trouble and main reason for average rating, they really could of used a mow.. Ball was sitting down on several holes and difficult to find(middle of fairway landings)
The greens were in average shape( many divots unrepaired or burned out) most flat without much thought required)
Couple of pros: under $40/cart, friendly staff, decent layout, great starter
Neat little clocks around course to remind of pace of play, course has great potential
Cons: course needs a little more Work, no cart people on summer days,
Need ranger( pace of play on first 6 holes was 1:55) couple of super seniors in front.... No biggie, but could of waved through) a few bare spots in middle of fairways
Overall a decent track for the price, will return
Really fun place to play
The greens were superb and fast. Nice hard layout with a lot options for every shot. Really enjoyed the round and it went rather quick. I am going to return and play here more often especially with the great rates.
Two days at PCC
My buddy and I played Wednesday at PCC and enjoyed it so much we returned on Thursday. Course was in great shape, fairways green lush and freshly mowed. Greens were good shape, fast but good. Course plays long when it's the am and still damp but a really good two days. Starter and people in pro shop are friendly and very helpful. Bring ur driver to PCC and enjoy this course with a country club feel.
Max
Had a great day at Pembroke CC. Staff was friendly and the food in the Grill Room hit the spot before my round. I had the burger and it was thick and juicy. They did a really nice job with the course over the winter. Grass and greens were well kept. Will definitely be playing there again.
Pembroke CC keeps getting better
With the exception of the soaking wet 9th hole, pembroke is the best walking and most improved course in the state. I would love to see more Rangers to increase the pace of play.
Challenging
I found the course in good condition . Overall it was a good challenge.
Great time!
Can't wait to go back. Great time -- bad weather but nice staff.
Enjoyable Course
Played this course for the first time. Course was in decent shape, and the layout was easy to negotiate. Fairways well groomed and greens were very fast. Pace of play was good, especially for a Sunday. Some of the amenities (like ball washers) need some attention, but other than that, a good bang for the buck.
Very challenging
Pembroke is in much improved condition since the current ownership took over. It is a fairly long and challenging course on which you will use all your clubs.
The staff was very pleasant but unfortunately they didn't have any rangers and when we made the turn there were groups in front of us that we're not on the front side. Overall it was good value and they are improving the course. We will be back.
Terrific Experience
The golf course was in terrific shape. I am not from New England and I am generally very critical of course conditions in this part of the country. Having said that, the course was in exceptional condition .. tees, fariways and greens .. greens were very smooth and medium fast, the type you can really putt well on ... the best greens I've seen in this part of New England.. and what a great course design. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Look forward to returning as soon as possible ... congratulations to everyone at Pembroke Golf Course
Almost perfect!
This course is about 100 times better than when I last played it many years ago. From tee to green the course is in great shape! No rough patches to speak of and the greens were rolling wonderfully. Fast and true. The young man at the pro shop was pleasant and informative and the starter was great as well. No refreshments to speak of. I know it's mid week, but we still have to eat and drink! Otherwise, this would be 5 stars. I will be back soon and often!
I'll be back
This course offers a little bit of everything, the greens always seem to be in good condition. I like to play on a course that forces me to play every club in my bag and Pembroke delivers every time.
Must Have Been a Bad Day
There were only about 10 cars in the parking lot, so the course was not that busy, yet we waited on most holes - and then - the starter put a single out in front of us at the turn! (We did not stop at the turn, as the restaurant was closed anyway). Many holes had all tees within one yard of the same spot (blue, white, red and green) instead of being close to their "scorecard" yardage locations - don't know what that was all about. Ball washers had no (or little) water. The sounding bell (needed on some holes) wasn't there. Never saw a course ranger out on the course. Apparently no one showed up to open the restaurant - so there were no refreshments on a 90 degree, hot, sunny day.
People hit into us 4 times and never yelled "fore" once (which is a reflection on the types of golfers who were playing at the course that day). Frequent "time" clocks is a very nice feature - but if a ranger isn't patrolling and golfers aren't paying attention....it gets me aggravated.
The fairways and green were in very good shape. My two sand trap shots were made from hard packed sand/dirt and some pebbles - not just "sand". Cart paths and anything not in the fairway were in tough shape.
With some minor attention to some pretty basic golfing outing expectations (ex: ball washers, sounding bells, tee placement, course ranger) my experience could have been have been much better, which would have been reflected in my rating.
This course is a great experience
This course is a great experience from the check-in throughout the round and the staff is super friendly. Great experience in the pub on the turn and at the end of the round.
Nice Course, Obnoxious Starter
I don’t normally write reviews for the courses I’ve played, but in this particular case I decided to make an exception. First, as it relates to the course itself, I thought it represented a challenging layout and the fairways and greens were in good condition. Unfortunately, the most memorable aspect of this course for me is the obnoxious starter. I’ve played nearly 400 courses in the U.S. and have never encountered an individual so ill-suited for this role. At first, I was inclined to dismiss it as “just one of those things”; however, when my playing partners (who I had never met) also had a similar encounter with this individual, I decided to express my dissatisfaction in the hope corrective action will be taken. As for me, I will not return to this course. There are just too many other courses available to play that welcome new customers.
