Yup
Coming back, and waaaaayyy improved (apart from the required dust masks for the cart paths). Greens are larger than before, and 'everything' around the green portions of around the greens are really good shape. The greens are nicely challenging, with undulations that also seemed new to me from the last time I played here, some years ago. Sand traps for the most part (alas) are mostly pulverized dirt...some were 'leaking' their so-called sand as a seeming result of the groundskeepers power raking of the traps, causing the sand to extend 2-10 ft. outside of the trap where the 'rake' exited the trap. Such a great layout! To get to where it needs to be: 1. Tar and chip the cartpaths (no more ruts-and-rocks is appreciated)...it will last a long time...or give away those dust masks. 2. Edge and put some sand in the sandtraps. 3. Keep up the good work on the fairways (great), rough (consistent), and greens (give away a ball repair tool...cheap souvenir and will encourage saving the greens).
Just Awful
Very tired facility, starts with a poor clubhouse more like a tavern with a giant bar, food also bland. Waited 20 minutes on the first tee while a 2 ball ambled up the fairway, no rangers to control pace of play. Went to 10th tee to start the round, generally tee boxes are in poor shape. Played in mid afternoon constant stops by rude groundstaff holding play while they cut or watered. One guy with a hose insisted on watering a green we were hitting into for 5 minutes, no apologies, never seen anything like it. Gave up after 9 holes. This is a course you want to avoid.
The Gem of The South Shore.
The course is in excellent shape. Even though we have had very little rain in June and July.
I really enjoy playing Pembroke.
Pembroke CC
Excellent championship golf course. It's long Challenging and in great shape. New time clock system keeps play going at a good pace. This course is for players who can manage their game and hit it accurately. Greens are fast but true. I really enjoyed it and will be back again soon.
Tremendous value
Second time at Pembroke and I'll be back. From tee through green the course is in excellent shape and requires a little thinking and using most of your clubs. Worth the drive.
Nice afternoon in Pembroke
We played Pembroke on a very hot afternoon but a storng breeze kept things comfortable. Water available on course. Haven't played here in a few years and noticed an improvment in tees, greens and traps. Still some improvements needed to the cart paths. Course played a bit long and the greens were quick. Limited activity due to heat so we finished (twosome) in less than 4 hours. Will come again in fall.
Long course but fair
Don't expect to shoot anywhere near par golf at this Cornish designed course. The course is in immaculate condition. The greens are extremely challenging and fast. This course is an excellent test of your golfing skills.
Overall good wxperience
Very nice course and friendly staff. Long but fair course.
Worth every penny of a full rate! But a discount is allways better.
As a primarily south shore and Plymouth golfer. There are few public courses that I would rate better than pembroke country club. Pembroke is a challenging course for any handicap. With a friendly staff and a steady pace of play on well maintained greens. This is a must play for any golfer that likes a challenge.
Local favorite
Nice track, still growing in for spring, Challenging but Fair. Staff very friendly. Would recommend to all levels of players.
played 5/3
no beverage cart/front nine wet/cart path only. Greens were fast, and the back nine was extremely slow. Waited on every hole which the ranger did nothing about.
However the practice tees were on grass
mwg
course gets better every year.will be back several times this year.
A for effort, B for delivery
Pace of play, even for a Saturday afternoon early season is unacceptable. There were rangers, just didn't do anything.
Course is in good condition.
Staff very friendly. Wouldn't kill them to send out a beverage cart on a sunny 70 degree day.
Try it again
Cart path only in effect? fairways and greens were dry and in decent shape made this round not worth riding or paying extra for a cart?
Great shape for this time of year.
Course conditions were great for this time of year, greens were super quick. I was equally impressed with the friendliness of the staff. I will sure play Pembroke again next year.
Great course for any type of golfer.
This course was long and challenging, but very player friendly. I enjoyed the different challenges that each hole presented. The staff was wicked friendly.
Greens and pin placement created some real challenges.
Very friendly club staff willing to help you with what ever needs you have from pro shop to tee.
put this course in your rotation if you are local
played this course on a crisp saturday in october, not too busy, pro shop staff and starter were both friendly. marshall came by to check on pace of play even though it was not too busy. course is well maintained and is a good value
Tough course!
If you struggle off the tee you may want to skip this one. Many dog legs, trees, and some water. This course is making me go back and take lesson! If you like a challenging course then you need to play Pembroke.
