No business charging $80
This is the worst course in this price range I have played in recent memory. Literal dirt patches on all the greens. Fairways are even worse. Found out when I got there the North Course only has 17 holes this year? 1 of which is a 200 yard par 4 from a dirt patch in the fairway hitting over a dirt mound from construction. I wouldn't pay $40 to play this place. Save yourself the time and frustration and play a real course.
Meh
Course has a nice layout, but every green was terrible and all of the the grass along fairways/greens weren’t trimmed or taken care of. They were way too long and impossible to hit out of (that’s if you can find your ball buried in it)
Used to be good
The North course used to be the better course at Stow and a great place to play for the value. Now that the town has purchased the land and plans to use for condos, the course has gone from good to terrible conditions and only has 17 holes since part of the land is already sold. Pace of play is 5+ hours for 17 holes with fungus severely impacting every green. I don't blame the grounds crew for not putting in the effort on the North since it will be torn up. Will not be returning to what used to be a great course
Worth the drive
We played the north course. The only criticism I have is that the greens were pretty beat up. I’m sure they’ll improve as the weather dries out. Other than that, this is an awesome course. There’s some wide open fairways, and then some challenging ones.
The facilities are beautiful and the clubhouse is nice. I definitely play there again.
This is a 30-40 dollar course. Conditions are mediocre, and they eliminated a whole hole for some reason, so you only get to play 17? It’s just straight up not worth it, go play Butternut Farm next door instead.
Winter Golf
Just fortunate a local course is open in January. Tough weather with 35 mph winds and just about 33 degrees but still grateful stow north keeps the doors open for die hard golfers whom want to itch the bug sort of speak. The range is also open which is important when the temps are less than favorable to avoid an injury before a round. The staff is welcoming and the grounds crew puts the work in to ensure the following season is upgraded from the previous year.
