Great beginner golfer course
Great course for the beginner golfer some great features like the sixteenth hole make this course fun. On a maintanence side only complaint was that some greens could be repaired.
Good Course
This is a good course. Unfortunately, not fault of the course it down poured heavy 3 times which created a back log. Otherwise you could complete the course in 2.5 hours instead of 4 hours. I loved the 16th green as it is cut out in the shape of Michigan. I would go back again.
Very average
Not bad for $13 but wouldn't pay any more. Be careful if you bring a cooler with beer. They have a guy who's job it is to drive around and stalk out your cart. Very annoying, especially since a beer girl is nowhere to be found.
player neglect
Thought the course was in good shape besides the lack of respect from the players. Found many divots not replaced and ball marks not repaired. Would return, but hope to see more care from players.
Great Value for money
The course had experienced a great deal of rain recently so the cart paths were underwater which caused everyone to drive just off the path and looked to be doing quite a bit of damage to the grass bordering the path. There were also large areas of casual water. Tees and Greens were in good condition.
Terrible Pace of Play
What should have taken 2.3-3 hours to play for my friend and I to play, took close to 5 hours due to the slow pace of the other golfers. The course grass was not that well kept but we will credit that to the showers the day before. Lastly the cart girl just zooms by mid back swing with no care in the world.
Poor management of golfers
The quality of the grass is not good, and the lady was more worried about just making sure the tee box on #1 didn't get backed up than anything else. She sent a group of 5 out followed by a group of 6. We were the 3rd group of 2 backed up behind them at every hole. It took us 45 minutes to play 3 short holes and we just ended up skipping 3 holes to avoid it any further.
stuck behind a weekend outing
Nice Course. Just wish that when they book outings on the weekend they tell people before you make the tee times. Outings are not normally booked on weekends. Got stuck behind the outing, pace at times especially slow at the beginning.
Needs Weed Killer!
Clubhouse:
We arrived 15 minutes before our tee time only to be told that they were about 30 minutes behind due to a frost delay. I was encouraged by this, feeling that they must really take care of their course. However, there was no food or service in the clubhouse on Memorial Day while we waited. Lady taking money was rude. Clubhouse is old and in desperate need of remodeling.
Course:
Tee boxes were COVERED in weeds as well as most of the course. The sand traps had a few pieces of sand on top of what felt like cement. Easily the worst sand traps I have ever hit out of in 35 years of golfing. The greens, although small, were in remarkably good shape and were quick, considering the abysmal shape of the rest of the course.
Overall:
An ok place to come out and play if nothing else is available or if you can get a deal for under $15. Anything more than that, and I would look at other options.
always a pleasure to play.
Needs some TLC. Older course and comfortable to play. Love the 16th hole green - it is in shape of the state of Michigan!
nice northern michigan style course
played early Saturday morning & the course was empty due to the light rain & cold temps.
played the course in 4 hours.
very nice course which is well maintained, greens were very fast & fairways were cut short.
fairly short course as many of the holes are par 4 doglegs.
hot dogs at the turn were great value.
will definitely play again.
This course has a green shaped like the state of Michigan.
I think this course ,although not long, is very tight pretty tough for the average golfer.
Has a few challenging holes.
Good value for the money, course may close in two years for a land fill.
Beginner Course
This course was very easy, not too many challenging holes. The course itself was in good condition and the staff was friendly. For $20 you could go to somewhere much nicer like Romeo and play a little more challenging course that is in way better condition.
Good bang for the buck
What you see is what you get. For $22, I would play any course. You can certainly do worse.
