Fern Hill Golf & Country Club

The majority of the back 9 (10-18) were pretty much unplayable holes. Fairways consisted of dust, rock and dirt. One of the par 3’s “greens” consisted of a marked hole in the fairway; it was obvious they moved the hole back from the original green. I’m not sure what’s happening with this place but it is unfortunately an unplayable course for even the most amateur golfers. The owners need to understand the course needs to be shut down immediately and repaired appropriately to even charge people money to play there.

We live in the area and play here a couple of times a month, usually. But bc fern hill in on the Clinton River floodplain, it suffered tremendous water damage with the excessive rain lately. Actually, I've never seen it in such bad shape. The water somewhat receded, but the grounds were wet, muddy, the rough was too long because I'm guessing the mowers would get stuck. And letting people drive all over the wet grounds just makes it worse. There really aren't any cart paths, so that doesn't help. We got a good deal on golf now, but it wasn't worth it, even if it was free. This course was in great shape in the spring, but is a mess now, hopefully will dry out and be repaired.

Paid with reservation. But the course was closed when I got there.

We were not able to play because the course was closed. Will the amount we paid to play be credited to my account?

After a couple of lessons and playing a few par 3s, we took our rookie golfer out for her first round of 18! We played scramble style to keep up with the pace of play, which was spot on since the tee boxes were stacked. We did have to dodge a couple of stray balls on the back 9, but given the tightness, it is to be expected. The bar staff was especially friendly and the food was amazing. Overall, it's a very relaxed place to take some golf newbies. We will be back!

When we arrived, the parking lot only had 5 cars in it. They were closed because of the wet conditions, so we didn't get to play.

Went out for an early 18. I didn’t have anyone in front of me until the back 9 but it was a super quick round. Shorter course

No beverage cart (tee time was 940)

Food on turn wasn’t great or even ready

The course was in the best shape I ever remember it being. The fairways were well cut, the roughs were a challenge, and the greens were in nice shape. This was a great value on our Hot Deal!
