Rouge Park Golf Course
About
Rouge Park Golf Course is the city of Detroit's hidden gem. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1923. Despite the expansion of Detroit's golf offerings in later years, Rouge Park G.C. is still considered one of the best and most challenging of them all. The tranquil setting boasts an abundance of wildlife including deer, pheasants, and herons, making you completely forget that you're in the city. The golf course was carved from rolling hills, providing tricky contours and dramatically elevated tees. The Rouge River winds through the layout, coming into play on six holes. The difficulty of the course is balanced by the wide, player-friendly fairways. The par-4 11th is considered one of the Detroit metro area's toughest holes. It requires a 280-yard drive in order to clear not just one but two water hazards.

Excellent condition well maintained
I would love to play this course with 40% holes are challenging and two holes more challenging than any other course I played in east west south and north within 50 miles
play at 730 am and finished round in 3 hrs. course was in great shape and has some really cool holes
greens r average speed but in great shape and had lots of fun with friends
Solid but slow play
Everything was great but the slow play. Some very interesting holes on the course
Stately old track. Short from white tees. Tough from blues.
Needs some work but much better than it was 10 years ago.
I'll be back.8/24/13
This is always a fun course to play
I've played this couse a number of times this year. I hate to rate it as only maintained because they have done so much work on it. Prior to the heavy rains we had in July this course was in pristine condition and I am sure it will be again soon mother nature just took her toll on it with too much water. I would recommend this couse to anyone.
lots of trees, water andshot making holes starting on #1
one of the best city courses around,if you play4/5 holes as 4s,you would be hard pressed to find a more challenging course.#1,#5,#6,#11,#14,#!7#18 all difficult,with#11 as a par 4, in top 18 holes in Michigan.,
Good Shape
Course looked good for a public muni... Traps needed tending to, fairways a little damaged from excess rain.. A couple of tee areas either very uneven or bare...
Couldn't BEAT $15 for 18!!!!
Couldn't BEAT $15 for 18!!!! Challenging and the back nine configuration of 3-3s, 3-4s and 3-5s loved it!
greens are very good!
I love playing this course! There is a mixed of hard holes and easy holes.
Nice Track
While the clubhouse is dismal and fit for the area surrounding the course, the quality of the grounds is high. It's cool how the river comes into play over and over. The fairways and greens are very well maintained and the layout was well conceived.
Overall a nice experience and a great value. Recommended.
Great greens!
Greens were great. Some flooded areas but that is to be expected with all the rainfall. A classic course that is fun and requires thinking.
This course being in the heart of Detroit was impressive.
I was expecting a lot less as far as a challenging course. Not only did I enjoy the course I became a fan from a players standpoint. Will definitely be returning
Great value for the money, super, super friendly staff!!
Very enjoyable course, GREAT staff, greens ran true and fast but not horribly fast. A gem in the city, easy to find, will definitely will be back to play this course again!!
One of my favorites
This course is very challenging and has been in great condition this summer. You can't beat the price either. I try to play here at least twice a month.
This course has great features
New management and it shows everywhere - from the condition of the course, to the quality of the staff.
Lots of variety
More par 3 and par 5 holes than a regular course,Rouge gives a lot of opportunities for birdies(and bogies). Some holes are very challenging, but overall the course is fair and fun to play.
Greens in great condition. Rolling true @ about 9 on stimpmeter.
Course in good condition. Lot of different holes. Can use all clubs in your bag. Friendly staff.
Wonderful course Hidden Gem in the City of Detroit
What a beautiful Course. Wonderfully leotard. Wonderful staff and very accommodating. I am impressed and will be returning again.
Great Course with Golfnow Discount - For Sure!
First ones out on a Saturday morning. Course was in really good condition. Greens rolled consistently. The Golfnow discount made for a GREAT value, especially for a weekend tee time. I would strongly suggest this course if you're not too high-falootin' (smile)!
