About
Rouge Park Golf Course is the city of Detroit's hidden gem. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1923. Despite the expansion of Detroit's golf offerings in later years, Rouge Park G.C. is still considered one of the best and most challenging of them all. The tranquil setting boasts an abundance of wildlife including deer, pheasants, and herons, making you completely forget that you're in the city. The golf course was carved from rolling hills, providing tricky contours and dramatically elevated tees. The Rouge River winds through the layout, coming into play on six holes. The difficulty of the course is balanced by the wide, player-friendly fairways. The par-4 11th is considered one of the Detroit metro area's toughest holes. It requires a 280-yard drive in order to clear not just one but two water hazards.

Many challenging holes. Great lay out.
There is a lot of risk/reward on this course. If you can make a solid second shot versus the layup you have great chances for birdies. The greens are large, fast and not to difficult to read.
Best Kept secret in the Detroit area
We love playing here. You cant beat the value. Nice course, well maintained.

Only a 3 or 4 easy holes. Several tees need improvement.

The course have a great layout.
I like playing this course because it's have a great layout. Some easy holes and some very challenging holes. I like the friendly staff and the driving range across the street is a great place to practice. Couldn't believe the large bucket of balls for only $12. I was hitting balls for 2 hours.
Greens are rolling excellent
From the start you are challenged to clear two water harzards.

I really like the layout of the holes.
I think the greens should be a little more maintained. But i like the fairways and the layout of the course, all the holes are different.
This course is good for nice relaxing golf
Love Rouge Park. Played it a few more than 6 times in the last two months and I love it. Course is always clean, fairly well-maintained, the staff is always on-point with golfnow.com tee times, and hole 11 is just downright difficult. I'll be going back many more times next year, and I recommend it to anyone in the area.
Great Value, Well Maintained
This course offers a great value! Course was in excellent condition. Some of the later holes had greens that had been recently aerated, but that can be expected. Course has a good mix of length and challenge. The little gem of Detroit golf courses! Can't beat it for golfnow's $20.00 rate for 18 with a cart. Relaxed atmosphere.

Course is very good shape and has several interesting holes that require your golf skills to be of the higest quality.
Has some challenging holes
I have played this course many times. has many challenging holes. The course drains pretty well. A mixture of open fairways, wooded areas, river going through course on several fairways and some elevated greens.
The course is long
The course is long and challenging.Sometimes play is a little slow but better that way than the rangers bothering you,A well kept golf course.
Hidden Gem
Rogue park is a hidden gem and is very cheap to play. we paid $31. The staff is very friendly. you do see a ranger every once in a while which was great because he kept making jokes and was very funny. greens were in great shape, fairways were just the same. i live in sterling heights and it took us 35 mins to get there. well worth it!
Great Place to Place
I have been playing Rouge for years. I always enjoyed playing there. Hole 11 is always a challenging hole. The grounds are in faiirly good condition. Since my 11 year old son is now playing, I take advantage of GolfNow.com discount offers, so it makes it even more enjoyable.
