Rouge Park Golf Course
About
Rouge Park Golf Course is the city of Detroit's hidden gem. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1923. Despite the expansion of Detroit's golf offerings in later years, Rouge Park G.C. is still considered one of the best and most challenging of them all. The tranquil setting boasts an abundance of wildlife including deer, pheasants, and herons, making you completely forget that you're in the city. The golf course was carved from rolling hills, providing tricky contours and dramatically elevated tees. The Rouge River winds through the layout, coming into play on six holes. The difficulty of the course is balanced by the wide, player-friendly fairways. The par-4 11th is considered one of the Detroit metro area's toughest holes. It requires a 280-yard drive in order to clear not just one but two water hazards.

Tee boxes need some work, but a spiffy little layout. Enough challenge to be interesting, not overly penal if you hit it crooked. Pace good Tuesday late morning, 18 holes in 3 hrs 40 mins.
Reservation
Made reservation on golf now. When I went to golf the day of our reservation, they did not have me in the computer for a tee time. They let us golf but there was no reservation for me in there computer.
Good value
Good value for the money. Not a difficult course to play. layout was a little tricky in places. Good pace of play.
Best metro Detroit course
You are in the Cody Rouge neighborhood. Hole one is a par 5 that goes along the road. After that you go down into the river valley to a very secluded and hilly course. This place is the best. The vast majority of the holes have cool features and great views. Tee it high and let it fly!
Great Course
This course is great, open enough for beginners, designed well to make you feel like your golfing a challenging course. Another great day of golf, can't wait to come back
Great day
Little cold to start out! We where one of the few people on the course but had a great time. I just love playing the course wether it's wet, cold and wind. We had a great time!
HELP !
Never played here so decided to give it a shot last year. I was impressed, but this year it is a different course. Fairways are a bit ragged and tee boxes have seen better days, The greens have multiple patches sometime interfering with putting. Lots of ground under repair. If you just a need practice round its okay but would not spend more than $15-$20. Club house and facilities dated and your better off just bringing a snack. Mens Room, No comment!
Competition in area makes it hard for me to return to "sub par" facility.
GPS
The golf course changed the holes around. #10 hole is now #1 hole but the GPS watch and cellphone didn’t change. How do you get the GPS system updated?
Enjoyable course
Really enjoyed the course and the layout. Wait time was bad as the course was packed. First two holes took us 45 minutes, but then the ranger moved people around and it began to speed it. All in all, a very enjoyable course.
Good Value
Course was in good shape. Green and fairways and greens were in good condition overall. The location is a bit out of the way in a somewhat depressed area but if u just want good value golf-go.
Good layout
I would recommend this course to the average and the advanced golfer, there are challenges for both.
One word!...WOW!!!!
We started off thinking it is just another basic regular course, were we ever wrong. The greens were not in the greatest condition, although the layout and difficulties behind each and every hole was very well thought out and made the course very challenging and enjoyable to play. We have been golfing at a different course daily, and this by far is our favorite in the local area. We will be back!
Nice Course
Found this course on GolfNow and took a chance. The course was nice. A good deal of water. Had some deer to say hello to also.
So the 10th hole is The first hole
They never changed the signs nor did they tell us this when we checked in or got our cart. However, the Rangers were extremely kind and considerate in assisting us getting back on track.
Relatively new to playing golf independently. This did not help my experience.
