About
Located just 15 minutes from Flint, The Captains Club Golf & Event Center is one of the area's most popular public courses and it was even voted Grand Blanc's best golf course. Known as much for the challenging layout as it is for the affordable rates. The spacious layout offers plenty of room with wide-open fairways, none of which run parallel to one another. Dense stands of mature trees enclose most of the holes, making them feel even more peacefully secluded. Towering trees loom above the narrow fairways and they also surround the large, undulating greens. Water also has a prominent presence on the golf course. A series of waterways weave through the holes, almost completely surrounding some of the greens. The Captains Club Golf & Event Center is a course that will test your iron skills, but there aren't many opportunities for driving.

Greens were fast with many slopes
The pace of play was 3 hours on the front 2 on the back. Long day. For me there are to many short tricky par 4s. I hit .4 drives all day with my driver. Teed off 4 times with irons on par 4s
Tricked up and poorly marked
It is a challenging course and as such should have some sort of hole descriptions on the card or at the tee box. There were many, many blind shots off the tee and we had little idea of what shot was in order. It is not a freindly course for beginners.
Additionally, the course was over-booked and our start was delayed more than 45 minutes. Play was pretty slow.
Challenging holes with carries over water and wetlands.
Great staff and good food to go with the challenging golf.
Terrible Shape
This course was probably pretty good back in the day but it was in terrible shape. Might be worth playing for <$20 but even that's a stretch. Greens rolled true but that's about the only thing worthwhile about this course.
Some of the most difficult greens you will ever play.
What an awesome course, very challenging and in super shape for this late in the season. Staff was very, very helpful and friendly.

greens seemed pretty hard, but rolled pretty true!...great value for what you get, plus club house is nice!
Was just a quick shot up i-75
had a cute beer cart chick, which is always a plus and also has water coolers at various holes!

Hit 'em straight!
This course can be very challenging. Trees, nay, forests line most fairways, and a healthy dose of bunkers and water are scattered around the course. Bring a lot of balls if you like to spray the ball, and maybe even if you don't. The greens are the hardest I've ever played, but they aren't a walk in the park. In the few times that I've played this golf course, the greenskeeper has changed the tee boxes and hole locations to give this course a different feel each time.
You must drive a cart on this golf course, the holes are sometimes far apart, so walking wouldn't make sense. The restaurant on site is good.
One of my favs
I am a big fan of the captains club as I play there quite a bit, the course is usually kept in really good condition, and the beverage cart girls come around very frequently. The staff is very good, and I would definitely recommend this course to anybody who asks
