About
Located just 15 minutes from Flint, The Captains Club Golf & Event Center is one of the area's most popular public courses and it was even voted Grand Blanc's best golf course. Known as much for the challenging layout as it is for the affordable rates. The spacious layout offers plenty of room with wide-open fairways, none of which run parallel to one another. Dense stands of mature trees enclose most of the holes, making them feel even more peacefully secluded. Towering trees loom above the narrow fairways and they also surround the large, undulating greens. Water also has a prominent presence on the golf course. A series of waterways weave through the holes, almost completely surrounding some of the greens. The Captains Club Golf & Event Center is a course that will test your iron skills, but there aren't many opportunities for driving.

So Much Potential But Not Maintained
The last time I played this course was in 2019. Refused to go back because it was not well maintained, i.e. tee boxes with barren patches, dirt swells and hollows along the cart paths and in the fairways, and cart paths that have 12" pot holes. Returned on an 80 degree day two years later and found the exact same conditions. It is a shame that such a nice layout isn't being kept in pristine condition. If you have to charge more to keep a nice course, I don't mind paying the extra.
Additionally, I understand the need to get more revenue but 8 minute tee times is ridiculous. On a Tuesday, it took 5 1/5 hours to play 18 holes and we didn't make any clubhouse stops.
Where’s the upkeep?
Lack of upkeep really hurts this course. Cart paths were almost dangerous to drive on. Didn’t offer a good description of the holes and staff was too busy texting to see our tee times cause late starts and backing up everyone
Great Day
Course a little wet, but playable, driving range still closed, but overall enjoyable round with friends.
Porta-potties
Great golf course. Friendly staff. No porta potties on any holes. Yikes.
No ranger on course checking of pace of play. This makes it a bit frustrating.

Great Course Great Staff
Always a great time going to captains club. The course has a nice layout, it is challenging and is up kept very well. Sadly a large group was in front of us and didn’t allow us to play through, but that’s not the courses fault. They have a very nice club house on site that is very clean and practices Covid protocol for safety. I would come back 10/10 for a nice round of golf.

Rough very bumpy cart paths. Tee boxes all beat up. Some fairways wet and muddy sands traps have a lot of weeds. Greens are good.
Call Me
Having a serious problem with Golfnow now taking calls nor is the chat service reliable. You pay for a VIP Membership but most courses require you to book 2 or more players?
So what’s the benefit if you have limited choices of courses to pick from?
Great conditions
Really good greens! The course was on his shape and pace of play was good! A free very odd gimmicky holes but mostly all good!
