East at Gull Lake View Golf Club and Resort
About
Gull Lake View Golf Club, southwest Michigan's oldest and largest golf resort, offers five scenic championship courses that play across Michigan's beautiful lake region. Gull Lake View East is the second of the five courses at the club. Opened in 1973, the golf course has a classic design that has a longstanding reputation of being one of Michigan's finest layouts. Charles Scott, who designed several courses in the area including most of Gull Lake's, designed the course. He carefully incorporated the natural terrain, utilizing the elevation changes and natural water features. Water comes into play on 10 holes and the undulating greens rarely provide a flat lie. Accuracy and careful shot placement are a necessity. Gull Lake is conveniently located within three hours of Detroit, Toledo, and Chicago and it is only about an hour from Grand Rapids and Lansing.

The course is fun to play.
This course is always well kept and is in a great location.
We had breakfast before the round at the restaurant. The people there are very nice and helpful. It makes fir a great day.
Course was beautiful.. price was just right.. I recommend this course to anyone that plays..
The greens were the worst of the 6 courses we played associated with Gull Lake View, it appeared as something was leaking from the mower on the greens.
Great facilities
I play this course or is sister courses several times a year, this is the earliest I've played though. The course was in wonderful condition for the time off the year and makes you appreciate the work involved to get the courses to their usual summer condition.
Club staff were, as always, very friendly and professional. I will always recommend this family of courses to anyone who asks.
Stagnant Water Everywhere, but Nice Layout
Course in very good condition. Course isn’t long but demands accurate shot placement. Enjoyed our round...recommend this course to others.
What happened to Gull Lake View?
Wow! It’s the end of May and there are still top dressing holes on the greens? I’ve always liked GLV be disappointed in fairways and greens. Not sure I’d go back at any price.
Will play it again.
We played as a twosome on a Saturday morning with tee time at 8:42 AM. We started right on time and had a great time playing the front nine. The course condition was great despite the rain that had passed through an hour earlier. As expected after the rain it was carts on paths only or when necessary on the rough. We completed the front nine in just under 2 hours.
We took a short break and got a couple of sandwiches to go from the restaurant.
When we got to the 10th tee a foursome had just teed off so we had to wait for them to hit 2nd shot. From that point forward we had to wait on every hole. There was at least one complete hole open in front of the foursome but they never considered letting us play through. We ended up taking just over 3 hours to play the back nine.
Overall we had a great time and look forward to playing again, hopefully on a weekday.
Great Course, Great Resort!
Gull Lake View East is one of the most scenic courses in the area. But don't let the beauty fool you, this course can be a challenge. Lots of water holes, large bunkers and large rolling greens. The Gull Lake View folks put a lot of pride in providing the best courses in the area and in my opinion in the state. You will not be disappointed with the East Course or any of their other gems. Keeps me coming back year after year.
All six Gull Lake courses are excellent... the East and Stonehedge south are my favorite courses...
fun round
had a great time even between rain drops. It is a good place to try all your golf shots because you will need them for sure at this place.
Gull Lake East
This ia a great course! It is well maintained with new GPS golf carts. The greens were slower then I care for them to be. The course setting is beautiful as it snakes throuhnthe wooded setting.
Poor Customer Service
My friends and I have been meeting at Gull Lake View Report for the past 10 years. We love the facilities and the assortment of courses, but in the past couple years we have had some service issues. The latest is regarding our set tee times. We were asked to reserve our rooms and tee times about a year prior to our trip - AND put down a deposit. Recently, they changed our tee times, and they do not work out in our favor. Not only have they not left enough time to get from one course to the other (we play 36 holes per day), but they moved us from the highly publicized Stoatin Brae to Gull Lake East. If you know these courses, you realize that Gull Lake East is the least desirable course they have to offer. You also realize that 4-hours rounds are impossible. When we called to express our concerns, they told us to pound salt. Is that a way to treat a long-time client. I think NOT!!! Obviously, the demand to play at these facilities is causing them to not care about their customers. Very short-term thinking.
Accuracy premium
The east course demanded accuracy over distance. The course was in great shape and the greens had almost completely recovered from aeration.
Great layout great price for the quality
Loved the course its really worth the ride
