Chemung Hills Golf Club
About
Established in 1927, Chemung Hills Golf Club is one Livingston County's oldest courses. The classic design has withstood the test of time beautifully and it is still considered one of the area's toughest public courses. The layout stretches across lush, rolling hills that are dappled with mature trees. Chemung Hills is known almost as much for the beautiful scenery as it is for the challenging design, which is characterized by its elevation changes. The ups and downs on the course range from subtly tricky to dramatic and intimidating. The layout has a player-friendly mix of short and mid-length holes, even all of the par 5s are reachable. Though you may not need length, your shots will need to be straight and accurate. You'll face blind shots on several holes. Strong iron play will be generously rewarded on this tough golf course.

Challenging Round
My son came to Michigan from the mid-Atlantic with a friend to spend a 4-day golf-a-ganza with my wife and I. We started this 104 hole marathon at Chemung Hills. It had rained the previous day and I was surprised at how dry the course was, considering the back 9 is in a very swampy area. Fairways and greens were in good shape. The course is always challenging, but pace of play was good and the staff is always friendly. It was a good way to start our fun filled weekend.
Nice course!
After playing 7 or 8 courses around Howell I finally got to this one on a really good price from golf now. It was very very wet and often needed to drop out of ground in repair or trudge through mud to retrieve a ball. With all the rain this is no surprise, however I will say the course still played well despite the rain. Elevated tee boxes were very nice to play from as well. Probably one of the best courses in the region for design. Had to take irons off of tee boxes or woods based on distances a few times instead of just playing everything long. Would reccomend,
Solid
Solid value, fun elevation on most holes, hilly greens. Greens crew kinda followed us the whole round which was obnoxious.
Great conditioning. Great layout.
This one is a gem. Been playing it for many years. Elevation changes aplenty with some really memorable holes.
Excellent value for the money
Course was in great condition, good mix of holes that require precise tee shots where you can’t hit driver and others where you can let it fly. The three par fives are elevated tee shots with great views, especially #10. Don’t worry, even a great drive here cannot reach the water unless you can hit 300 yards or more. Hole 5 is another elevated tee shot with a great view. This course used to be a private course back in the day and it plays like one. Great variety of holes, elevation changes, and overall beautiful course. It is owned by the township of Oceola and they take pride in this course. It also has a driving range but uses limited flight balls so don’t try to dial in any yardages before your round.
Love the course
My only real complaint about this course is that it rains when I come there
Great track - oversold (slow play( at tines.
This Is not an easy loop so the pace and group spacing is important.
Greens can be tough.
One of the best values around.
Hello. We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We would love to know how we can earn those last two stars next time! Thanks for playing Chemung Hills Golf Club.
Enjoyed My Round
My first time playing this course. The course was built in the 1920’s. I thought the layout was very good. It was not overly challenging. I lost a couple balls on the back nine due to me making terrible tee shots.
The course is in good shape. The tee boxes were decent. The fairways were decent. The greens were really good. A sand trap here or there could use some attention.
Pace of play was excellent. Tee’d it up at 8:14am. Playing by myself, I finished my 18 hole round in 2hrs 20minutes.
Value for dollars spent is Excellent on a HotDeal. I would play it again. For sure go check it out if you are in the area.
