Faulkwood Shores Golf Course
About
Faulkwood Shores Golf Club first opened in 1971, exactly a century after the historic farmhouse that serves as the clubhouse was built. Located in Howell, it's considered one of southeastern Michigan's best values. The golf course has a traditional layout that is player friendly enough for players of all skill levels but there are some challenging hole designs that will appeal to those that are more advanced. Water hazards come into play on eight holes throughout the golf course, including a stream that runs alongside the first hole. The fairways are tight and the greens are fast and well guarded by bunkers. There are also a few subtle undulations that can be tricky to maneuver. Faulkwood Shores Golf Club requires accuracy but it's not overly punishing if you're slightly errant.

First time at Faulkwood Shores
Excellent value. Very nice course and courteous staff. Worth the trip. I'll be back.
Very good experience
I went and played myself and had a good time. The Course was in decent shape and the play was ok. I will come back.
Nice place
We played a very nice 3 hour & 50 minute 18 holes.
One green needed a little attention but most of the course was in nice shape. Great staff from front desk to cart girl they would have me come back just because of them... I will return.. Soon
Excellent course
Faulkwood is an excellent course. It is pretty challenging. The greens are very difficult, however maintained very well!
The Good and Bad
Good: nice fairways, layout and greens...
Bad: cup positions had not been change in a long time and no sand in the bunkers
Classic old design
I played here many times with my sons as they were growing up and played on Fathers Day. It is a classic old design, challanging length and nice layout. If you miss fairways and greens, you will pay for it. A lot of beautiful mature trees, but lacks ruff around the greens. If you miss the greens long you will pay for it. Chipping on dirt is harder than you think.
Slow play
They allow people to play slow, even when being told. It took 45 minutes to play 3 holes. Totally unacceptable !
Coarse is in Excellent condition
Beautiful day and coarse was in fantastic shape. Best value for the money anywhere.
very nice and tight
Met up with a buddy from H.S. and had an absolute blast. Course is pretty tight so placement is key...several greens also proved very challenging...will definitely be back to play again.
We will be back!
Great day,the course and weather were perfect.GREAT VALUE
don't get much better for the buck
big fast green, long par 3s ,thick rough w / lots of room to spray the ball
very open yet fun to play
Enjoyed the course a lot course layout good, some greens need a little work .
Value
A gem especially at their/GolfNow prices. A few greens are in repair. Most are great especially considering someone turfed up a few of the a couple years back.
Length and accuracy are 2 key words to describe.
The back 9 tends to be through the woods with several greens protected by bunkers.
The front is a little more open with some HILLacious greens (3,5,7,8)
Greens in great Condition
I had the pleasure of taking my 2 grandchildren to play golf yesterday at Faulkwood Shores. The staff is pleasant and are family friendly. The greens were in excellent condition and were in mid year form despite the trouble other courses have had due to ice damage. This is a challenging course that offers one all they can handle especially if played from the tips. The course rating is the equivalent to that of Oakland Hills. The course used to be a qualifying course for the Buick Open. Taking into account the price and condition of the course I do not think you can find a better deal.
nice greens for spring
greens were the 2nd best if played this early spring 4 times in ky 4 times in Carolina 4 times in mi ft nine drier than back great value will be back
Passionate staff
Course was in fair condition for the time of year. Can tell the staff cares for the greens may not have the funds or man power to keep the whole course up to high standards. Very tight course great course to learn to control trajectory and curve. Staff was very passionate about golf. Had great spring cleaning specials on gear. Would go back for the right price. Greens are worth putting. Embarrassing the harsh slope on two of the greens allows one to really create feel on the course.
Nice place .... 3 1/2 stars
Played in light and cold rain and my game was WAY OFF that day. Not the courses fault. It's not on the same tier as a "Championship" golf course and also not a "Mom & Pop". if you know that going in than it's a solid 3 1/2 stars. Definately walkable and if you the correct tees, the yardage wont kill you.
Needs some work
The course has potential but I don't think it is maintained well. Tees furry and greens slow. Other players do not repair their ball marks...
great value
very Nice Course Design, Hidden Gem For The Price. Only Gripe Would Be The Tee Boxes. Many Where Uneven.
Tough track from the Whites!
Played this course for the 1st time this week. 6600+ yards from the White's was tough for this senior golfer! Next tee up was 5500. Narrow fairways and plenty of water/sand/trees. Would have enjoyed it more from tees around 6000 yards!
